The law says only a small number of people can come to America from Mexico every year. That's why so many of them come illegally.

I don't believe your statement to be true. On what do you base that assertion?

Let's suppose it's true...there are many social conservatives who are ridiculously liberal when it comes to fiscal matters. If the government of a prosperous nation right next door displays a proclivity for not enforcing its borders and a relaxed attitude towards hiring illegals for under the table wages at slave-ish levels...then you will, in fact, tempt those fiscal liberal/social conservative Christian people into this country for a life that, while better than what's in Mexico, is substandard to even poverty levels as defined by our own government. It's a vicious cycle that needs, in Wall Street terms, a market correction.

People proclaim how expensive vegetables will be or how hard it will be to find landscapers...that is the most elitist tripe I've ever heard in my life. If those things and services are so cheap because of illegal undocumented workers who are not being paid what's fair....THEN WE DON'T DESERVE TO GET THEM SO CHEAPLY.

Yes...Mexican immigrants are human beings and for those who want citizenship in our fine nation...I say let's streamline the process so ALL people who wish to legally immigrate can do so without the seemingly endless waiting period.

The flip side of this is that all illegal immigration needs to stop immediately. Once that is done, then we can get to work on the former.

It's NOT a matter of RELIGION OR POLITICS, it's a matter of being LAW ABIDING. Besides, how FAIR is it to those who DO follow the rules and come to America LEGALLY if we simply say to the illegals, "Okay, screw those who obey our laws, c'mon in anyhow!"

Now, if those who are concerned about following the laws are the conservatives and Christians, what does that say for (or against) those who are not? There are many non-Christians and non-conservatives who want the aliens to abide by our immigration laws.. why are you limiting this to conservatives and Christians?

If the people in Mexico are conservative Christians, then why do the democrats woo the Hispanic vote so? Why does the media assume the Hispanic vote is a liberal democratic one?

Watch your generalizations there! You're tripping on them.

Have a right-wing day.

Actually, no one has tried to change the law increasing the number of legal immigrants that can immigrate from Mexico.

Conservatives have no problem with legal immigrants.

It is the criminal illegal immigrants they have a problem with.

Every illegal immigrant who uses false id papers to get a job, should be imprisioned then deported.

Those who don't use false ID papers to get a job , should be deported and the people who gave them a job, should be imprisioned.

I believe if 30 million Chinese showed up off the coast of Cali next week, every proponet of allowing illegal immigrants to say in the US,

Would suddenly have a quick change of heart.

No one wants illegals in America. I really don't think its a matter of nationality or political stance. Many liberals, especially those in the Southwest are opposed to this as well. But its not just Mexicans many oppose,...its illegal Mexicans, or any nationality.

People just want those entering our country to take the necessary steps to do so.

This helped Republicans in 2004. The Republican party targeted these conservative Catholic voters with radio ads in Spanish emphesizing social issues, abortion, gay marriage, and Republicans helped them register to vote. This helped them in Western states and in Florida. Both George and Jeb Bush, George a Texan and Jeb a Floridian, have appeal with Hispanic voters. It especially helped in Florida. They had a conservative Hispanic Senate candidate, Mel Martinez, who had the almost unanimous support of the Hispanic vote, which is traditionally more Democratic. This helped them win the Senate race, and pick up a Senate seat, as well as taking many Hispanic voters from Democrats and created a general Republican trend which allowed Bush to carry the state comfortably, 52-47, and 27 shiny electoral votes.

Because they cost the taxpayer too much money. They also overburden the schools and the infrastructure of many cities. They take more than they give. Why would we want to be infiltrated by 3rd world people.

We should allow them in...Legally. This is aboout national security, not racism. That's just a bunch of normal liberal crap that the main stream media want you to believe, oh ...and liberals want the border wide open so they don't miss out on their "killer dope". Liberals are all morons that believe anything.

Same old story about the (fill-in-the-blank) taking American jobs and costing the US taxpayers in social services. We need immigration to expand the economy. Population growth is important to any economy.

They aren't "conservative" Christians in terms of what Americans consider conservative Christians.

They're mostly Catholics and American Conservative Fundamentalist Christians do not like Catholics, not at all. So the brown-skinned man, woman and child, scurrying across the border in the dead of night to have the privilege of picking fruits and vegis for under minimum wage, with no benefits except what they can scam from social services, and getting no pleasure out of it except for seeing middle-class Americans slurping up the food they pick for us to eat and toss out our car window as we drive past their fields, always looking the other way, for all of the human suffering that brings, they are mostly all Catholics and our white and black protestant, fundamentalism wont permit "those people" to have any dignity whatsoever.
