"but i dont think i need to go to a university and all that, "

Think through that statement, add something about "...to be a successful ________" and repost the question.

If you want to work in retail or fast food then you are very correct, you don't need to go to college for that. If you want to join the Marines and be an infantryman, you don't need to go to college for that (although it will impact your ability to get promoted).

If you want to be a teacher, lawyer, doctor, business manager, accountant, scientist... (almost any job that pays enough to have a decent life without working three jobs) then you do need to go to college for that.

There's more to college than the future job though. Of course, some people aren't cut out for a college education and those people won't gain anything from one. I hope you're not one of those because the present world isn't the same one your parents remember. A college degree is to us now what their high school diploma was 20+ years ago. No degree, not such a good job. Degree = better chances.

It depends on what you want to do with your life, but unless you're happy at a low paying job, you most likely need at least some form of education beyond the high school level. If you don't feel that university is right for you, then maybe you should look into a technical school.
There is a point for further education. Without it, I would be unable to become an engineer. There is so much knowledge out there to be gained.
Just remember that there are few jobs that will accept you with only your high school diploma.
I'm currently a freshman in college.

The job market is a monster today, even WITH a degree. Unless you want to deal with Mickey D's, you really do need to get an education -- unless you are already independently wealthy!
