The baby's gender is present at 17 weeks. Seeing it on the ultrasound depends on the baby's position and whether it has legs together or in such a position that it cannot be determined.

If they can't tell you for SURE, there is always a chance they could be wrong. I would just save all your receipts to make sure, and hope they can tell you more on your next visit. They can tell you the sex for sure theoretically, but the position of the baby can also cause a problem. I am 17 weeks 2 days as well!!!!! I find out the sex November 20th. Someone told me the tip to drink a small bottle of orange juice before I go in to help the baby move a lot... It must be all that sugar. Good luck, and congrats!!!

Ws could see my friends son's was a boy at 17 weeks with no problem, so I'd say you're probably having a girl, espoecailly if the labia were visible.
. I would keep the receipts for the pick stuff just in case, but I'd say that no matter how far along you were since I know people who were totally surprised when a boy popped out.

I understand your fears there...I had an ultrasound at 18 weeks and the us tech said he knew it was a girl but didnt point out in anyway how he saw it and i couldnt tell for sure...and i find myself thinking omg what if he was wrong alot too lol either way how it works out i'm sure we will love our babies with all our hearts even if they aren't the gender that was predicted or wanted initially. good luck

They can tell the sex of the baby anywhere between 16 and 20 weeks depending if the baby is in the right position. I'm having an u/s done in 3 weeks to tell the sex of my baby. I'll be 19 weeks then.

If you really want to be sure you should go get a 3-D or 4-D ultra sound you can see the baby so clear and it is really nice.

I certainly hope so, that's when they told me I was having a girl. I asked around though even the nurse, and she said they are almost always right...we'll see
