For a log time, the Chicago Blackhawks home games, have been very rarely seen on TV, and the only games that was shown on TV, are the ones that they play outside of Chicago. But should the Chicago Blackhawks start having all home games on TV, why or why not? For the 2nd season in a row, the Chicago Blackhawks will be airing some home games at the United Center on TV. And the first of 7 games this season, was shown yesterday.

As a long time suffering Hawks fan, putting the nine home games they have plannned is fine by me. I would love to see more, but local sports stations make their broadcast schedules up to one year in advance, to at least block out for certain prgramming rights and schedules. We do already see every road game too.
I expect to see the list grow, but anticipate not more than three more additional games be added to the already decent list they have come up with.
Definitely expect to see the full season broadcast next season
Go Hawks!

Hey someguy... they actually are a very good team this season so far... put opinions aside and represent facts.
as for the question at hand... my family had season tickets since my dad was a kid in the 40's. We didn't renew when they moved to the new stadium because anyone who had season tiks before the new stadium is aware of how they got screwed and were not offered comparable seats so the big corps had access to the best...then they team when flat, yada yada. So I definately wanted more home games on TV. However, this year is the start of a new era for Blackhawks hockey and what they are putting on TV this year is a great start and fine for me. I also bought a 22-game pkg so I'm doing my part to support the team as much as I can and see this thing turn around.

Yes, they should. Not everyone in Chicago can afford to attend the games, but would like to see them. The option should be there. (Not to mention the people that may catch the game in passing, stop and watch it, decide they like it, and may attend a game in the future.)
As a side note, I watched that game, and I am glad that was able to, because it was very exciting. (It's so nice that hockey is exciting in Chicago again!)

I am really cheering for Chicago this year. Although I'm a die hard Wings fan, i am really hoping that team can prevail.

All the games of ANY team should be televised locally. Or a mix of locally and nationally. Like take the Avalanche; around 70 games on the local TV channel Altitude and 12 games nationally broadcast on either VS or NBC. That's how it should be for ALL teams.

I think that is wrong what the owner had done to the fans around Chicago. Hopefully with new ownership this will be resolved in the near future so fans can watch their team.
