same with the pc... they are both on all the time, how sad is that??

I used to be glued to it, got hooked on sitcoms and basically planned my life around them. Now, for the past four years I live in the mountains, I have one small TV with rabbit ears and I can only get one channel, 'sometimes'...I watched the news on it a couple of times a week for about five minutes... At this time, I can't remember the last time I turned it on... My life is so much calmer, richer and satisfying now that I don't watch it anymore...The sitcoms did nothing but make me make fun and laugh at other people. We get to thinking everyone in the world is an idiot because they aren't like us. The TV ads convince us that we have to buy this or wear that if we ever hope to be 'happy'...even though we're in debt up to our eyeballs....etc. etc...Yes, I can easily life without a TV...

I have....
I cannot justify paying my cable bill if there is nothing to watch...to get to watch old black and white family shows I would have had to double my cable expense...it would be cheaper to just buy these programs...
I do not approve of enticing commercials and shows...I do not approve of shows that use vulgar language....I do not approve of shows that show sexual deviancy as something normal and acceptable..and I especially do not approve of the news media that twists and makes up news stories...
If I want weather, basic news, ...the Internet...in the meantime I have more time to do things that really count like answer questions

sure i could do without it. most of my entertainment comes from either the real world, friends, family, or games
besides if i want to watch a movie all i have to do is turn on the computer with a dvd player or windows XP
