i am the mother of two smaller girls. But seeing how pre teen and teen girls act these days scares me. I am only 36 years old, but most girls would have been labeled slutty when I was a teenager. Based on the clothing styles of today. And not mention that they are so forward with boys sexually......Opinions Please.

Because of what they see older girls and women wear. Not to mention all the ads for slutty clothes on T.V., internet and billboards. All of their friends are wearing it so they feel pressured to be cool.

The way girls act is merely based on how well or not well that the parents raised them. Promiscuous is likely defined differently by different people, but it is true that you cannot control people wholly. There is only so much parents can do, the rest is up to the girls themselves. First of all I dont think that trying to teach them "moral values" is going to work because such values are viewed differently by each person. Second of all, you are generalizing younger women and girls as "sluts." Labeling in my view is wrong, and I dont stand for it. If you do then I respect you have your own mind, but I do not respect you saying that it is right to label girls "sluts".

Society focuses on sexuality.
Media (advertising, tv shows, movies, magazines, etc...) promote sex.
The heroines of today (Paris Hilton, Britney, etc...) promote sex as part of their image.
Girls today seem to be filling out earlier on.
Contraceptives are more easily available these days.
There is less of an emphasis by society and our schools on morals and promoting abstinence.
Kids are heavily influenced by their peers.
I'm guessing that church attendance is down these days.
Today's fashion accent and draw attention to the bodies of young girls.
Parents and grandparents are probably less involved in kids lives these days or don't want to cause friction by saying 'No'.
Kids feel more empowered than they used to and have more self confidence.
Because parents and grandparents are busy with their own lives and activies they are away from the homes giving teenagers more 'windows of opportunity' to be alone with the opposite sex.
The previous president said oral sex was not considered sexual contact thus setting a bad example for today's youth.
Kids are influenced by music...take a look at the top 10 videos on Mtv and see how much sex is in them.

Does that answer your question?

I think it all has to do with self esteem. When teenage girls say they are addicted to sex, they really aren't, they just need validation of who they are. The best way to raise your daughters is with a stong sense of self worth and self respect. Show them by example of how to be treated by a man and how not to be treated.
Another thing, don't try to be their best buddy. You are not, you are their mother. Raise them as a mother and hopefully one day you will be their friend.
Kids who fall sexually are more prone to fall in other ways like drugs and alcohol but remember, kids who do that are lost and looking to find themselves. Make sure your girls know who they are in your home and family and they'll have no reason to look for themselves elsewhere. Good luck! :)

Well for one its in human nature, if you shelter your kids too much A. they won't like you B. they will be more inclined to disobey C. in college when you can't guard them the more sheltered they were the more of a backlash there is. So better to let your kids make out with somone at 13 or 14 then have them disobeying, not liking you, and constantly having sex in college. i am not making this stuff up sadly, i speak from social research and personal experiences. just let them be, if they dont get hurt, dont get an STD and dont get Pregnant then there is really no issue.

PS . i see people trying to pin this on the media, well i dont like the media either but i dont want to listen to inccorect BS, people in the 1920s where getting married before 18 let along have sex, furthermore its in human nature, from the day they hit puberty on, according to nature they should be reproducing, people now a days just prolong childhood, i am not saying that 12 years olds should be having sex but i am saying its not all the fault of society. for all the flaws humanity has this is not soley on society.

it is an exceedingly comfortable question because it covers many matters concurrently. Social factors alongside with peer rigidity, "taboos" on the subject of training specially matters, miscommunication, mistrust and finally incorrect information are in my view what takes those females to act like this. it is needless to say something it quite is erroneous. "innovations" technologies is something that for the period of my view could be strongly enforced and known into an exceedingly close scope as its complexity makes it a separate international from what actuality is. undergo in innovations that technologies is accessible to all human beings and it relies upon particularly on the person's purpose which obviusly is composed of situations as you defined right here. One could learn those scopes as a discern with a view to grant and convey protection at abode. have self assurance me we can continually be mom and dad no remember how previous our babies are.

A lot of it has to do with parenting. My parents would not let me go out of the house unless I was dressed properly. I wasn't allowed to wear makeup or date until a certain age. Most of the time, the child is only as good as the parents.

blame it on the parents who didn't care enough to teach them manners, and respect.
And thanks to the schools, passing out contraceptives it just them the kids to say well it's ok to do want we want, NO ONE CARES!!
In Indiana they give contraceptives to 11 year olds now. Next year will they start for the 9 year olds?
When does it stop, and the parents start raising the kids the way they are supposed to be raised. With rules, respect, and a firm hand.

definately the school the go to, the neighborhood, who they hang out with, what shows they are watching, how open their personality is, religion...it is very hard to get away from this though, probably have to home school them and be with them 24/7. It is definatley a scary thought though

Why do older women like to generalize an entire generation?

I'm not promiscuous. And you can't base things on the clothing styles of today. While I wear short skirts quite often, I'm almost always covered and presentable, and just because I like to wear them doesn't mean I like taking them off for just any old guy.

Teach your little girl correctly not to have sex until she's ready and cares about whoever she's doing it with, and you have nothing to worry about. All the little teen whores these days are just results of shoddy parenting.
