I know that my last period began March 6th, so it makes sense that I would have been fertilized around March 20th and my due date is Dec 13th, (30 day cycle). In both my 20 wk ultrasound and 30 week ultrasound, my baby measured about 5 days small for these dates. I had sex on March 20th, so that is realistic. Today, at 35 wks 4 days, I am 2 cm dilated an 50% effaced and my doctor said her best guess is that my son will be born 14 to 17 days from now. There's no chance I could be pregnant from an unprotected sexual encounter in mid to late January, right? I had a period in February and March. I'm just so afraid I'll find out the January guy is the father even though it seems so unlikely.

My daughter always measured small, and we only tried 1x to have her so I knew when I got pregnant. She was a normal size at birth, but had a petite frame like me. Don't worry about it. Alos, it depends on when the egg implanted. It can take 6-10 days for that to happen, and even if you know the day that you ovulated, you dont know when you implanted for sure. I started dilating at 36 weeks, and had my daughter at 38 1/2 weeks, which is full term.

Most women start to dilate in the last month so you could still make it to your due date. 37 weeks is full term so in 2 weeks you would be 37w4d which would be fine.

If you got pregnant in January you would have already delivered by now so I think your due date is right, the baby may be a little small but that has been almost 6 weeks ago so who knows how much the baby has grown.

I think you're ok with assuming the March guy is the father. Even if you go in 2-3 weeks from now, assuming they think you are at 40 weeks full term at that point it would still only put you 2-3 weeks back on your conception date which would still be early March. Good luck and congrats!

Ultra sound, especially later ones like you had, hardly ever correlate exactly with the dates you calculate. its actually amazing your baby measure within 5 days of your due date with those ultrasounds. They are highly innaccurate for measurements the later you get them. Plus, your baby measured small, not big. If the baby was concieved earlier it would be large for dates!

The only way you can be absolutely certain about paternity is to have the baby and "suspected" fathers tested after baby is born. Remember babies don't read calendars. This baby will come when it is ready. As to who is the father, it should never be the baby's fault that Mr. X is the father instead of Mr. Y.

You should be fine and the baby is probably just early. the sonograms are pretty accurate and you would be way late if it was from January.
