how to make website like trademe/ebay i'm not very smart at these things?

hey guys, me and a few friends have thought abotu purchasing a domain, were hoping to make a site much like www.trademe.co.nz
none of us have any idea on how to make a website, but we're intrested i know yahoo has ways to make websites but not on how to make an online auction website is there a website out there that tells you?
or will we have to hire someone?

A trading or auction site like this will take 3-4 experienced programmers 6 months or more to create.

If you develop the concept, you can hire a programming company to do it for you. But, plan on paying $200,000 USD or more for it.
