I had to ride the bus. We lived so far out in the country that we (my bro and me) were the first on and the last off! My parents never drove us to school... plus if you forgot your homework, you got a zero and if you forgot your lunch or money you were darn hungry... "so you can learn"!

I always walked- and the distance to take the bus was much longer back then in the 60's and early 70's! I walked over a mile each way to Jr. and Sr. high school. We thought we were really lucky to have a parent drive if it was raining!

rode the bus after a short walk to the bus stop back in 78-80. Then walked to school 80-84. About 2 miles. Then drove myself from 84-86.

I rode the bus all the way through. I didn't get a liscense until I was out of HS. I didn't want to have to drive my folks home from the bar.

I had to walk about 3/4 of a mile to the bus stop and if I missed the bus I had to walk home and my mom wouldn't take me to school.

rode the bus, unless i missed it. then i might get a ride. or i would have to walk. coming home if i misse dthe bus, i would have to walk. but there was a trolley track between my school and home (almost a straight line) so i would just walk on the tracks, which sounds dangerous but it wasn't i alwasy faced the direction of the oncoming car, and then i would see it way in advance. plus, only one would ever pass by, b/c it was further out from the city and not many trolleys came. and they were really slow back then.

I had to ride the bus and I always made sure I was first in line at the bus top so I could get a good seat!!!

All 3. When school was a block away, I walked. Then we moved and school was a mile away and I rode the bus. Then I went to a different school which was 25 miles away and my parents drove me. Then I got my drivers license and drove myself.
