This is a single phase electric motor. i have the electric panel with spare circuit breaker. all i need to know is how to power the motor. it has altogether 9 wires sticking out of it. 3 wires are joined together, another 3 wires are joined together. and there are three separate wires, so altogether i have 5 wires to work with. any help would be appreciated.
thanks

Look for a wiring diagram on the motor connection plate. It will tell you the voltage and the L1 and L2 connections.

I don't think it's a single phase either. 9 wire set ups are standard for many 3 phase motors.

Sounds as though you have a 3 phase motor..not a single phase. Call a licensed, professional Electrician.
