Don't give up on your team!
The Yankees are an astounding team! Though I'm not a Yankee fan at all, I respect the team because they play the game fair and well. They have some amazing players and a promising season ahead of them, though I will be rooting for the Red Sox.=)
Think of how long some Red Sox fans had to wait for a World Series Championship...86 long years! It finally came and it was well deserved.
Your Yankees will do well, that you can count on. Even if they don't make it to the WS, they'll play so you can be proud of them. That's what being a fan is all about...supporting your team through the good and the bad.

No they are not dead. A-Rod was a great player, but not a great team player. He also hurt the Yankees in the postseason by not coming through in the clutch. As for Torre, the Yankees needed a change, and they got a great young manager in Girardi, who knows how to work with the young pitchers.
The players don't want to follow Torre. Posada said his first choice is to stay with the Yankees and he said they are "close" to a deal. Mariano is next and the Yankees will give him what he wants. He is going nowhere. Pettitte may retire, but it's not because Torre left.
Do not give up on them. In 1995, they went through almost the same thing. They lost a lot of people after the season, changed managers, and everyone thought they were dead. The Yankees this year have some great young pitchers, in Hughes, Chamberlain, and Kennedy, and a great young hitter in Cano, and an energetic player in Melky. They will be fine. A lot of teams want the young pitchers the Yankees have because they will be great. If the Yankees hold onto them, they will be fine and start winning again. Real fans stick with their teams. I watched or listened to every Yankee game when they were awful from 1989-1992. I stuck with them when they were 67-95 in 1990. Keep watching them, they'll be back.

spoken like a true, bandwagon jumping yankee fan, if you were a real fan youd watch even if the loose 100 games next year
now first off, you shouldnt be happy arod is gone, he was a huge part of your teams success and you should be very sad indeed that he is gone, arod leaving the yanks was great for arod but horrible for the yanks
you yank fans always talk about his playoff chokes, thing is, until he came to new york, he didnt choke in the playoffs, he played very well in seattle, but his abscence is at least as important as the loss of torre, which was the dumbest move i think ive ever seen a major league baseball team make
anyway, the short answer is yes, the yanks wont be visiting the playoffs for awhile, and they will probably be going back to a situation much like the one joe torre inherited, a team that doesnt make the playoffs very often if at all, and changes managers all the time, the big free agents will be landing in boston and anaheim and the yanks will battling with the jays and possible rays mariners indians tigers and royals for wild card spots the next few years

Nah, they have way too much talent to just completely flake out. Posada will be back; probably Rivera, too. Pettite will either pitch for the Yanks or retire, so he won't be haunting them. If the younger Steinbrenners are smart enough to let their baseball people run the team and acquire and develop talent, their future looks quite bright. They're just a team in a sort of a transition. They'll compete.

Stop crying! It's just a game.
You didn't hear that the Yankees are making offers to Posada and Rivera today, and that both want to stay Yankees. Pettite may come back if he knows he's playing with Posada, Rivera, and Jeter again.
The Yankees won their last four world series without even a 30 homerun guy, so we can win without A-Rod's bat in the lineup.
Every good team must overcome adversities in order to succeed. The Yankees are always capable of winning the World series. Never forget that!
If I were you, I'd watch a few vloumes of Yankeeography to overcome this grief.

Absolutely not my friend. They say Girardi could be the next Casey Stengal in due time. In reality, all were missin is A-rod, but who cares? well get Miguel Cabrera and well have posada and mo back. In my opinion, were gonna be better..look at the 96 yankees? we had no big names on that team.. We'll see what happens in the next month or so and then make some more predicitons.'
Oh and i thought it was great how Hank Steinbrenner kicked arod out saying "would u rather go to the Hall as a new york yankee or a Toledo Mud head" I love it. as michael kay says- CYA!!

If it makes you feel any better I HATED (past tense) the yankees just because of A-Rod he was just so arrogant that I couldnt even stand to watch the game. However he's gone i'm happy.
But whats this about Posada leaving? He is so good, I really like him.
Good Luck Yankees fan, they will prevaile (not over my Tigers) but they will prevail :-)

One can only hope and pray that they are.
I am the #1 anti-yankee fan in the entire history of the whole universe. It would be very nice to see them miss the playoff all together for the next 25 years.

Holy smoke! What a fair whether fan you are. The Yanks don't want a crybaby like you for a fan. Root for the BoSox next year, unless they falter. In that case, just root for whatever team happens to be in 1st place that week.
