>>Ryan Braun, why is he rookie of the year<<
Because the idiots that vote don't take defense into account.

Tulowitzki was THE best defensive player in all of MLB this year and Braun was the worst. Tulowitzki made OVER 600 more plays on defense than Braun. I hear "IF" used a lot when it comes to Braun's numbers, since when does if count for squat in baseball. But, "IF" Tulowitzi had "only" had as many AB as Braun, Braun would have had 15 more hits. Lets see, one guy makes 601 more plays on defense the other guy has 15 more hits(IF) - You tell me who was the better all-around player - Tulowitzki(179) was even responsible for 25 more runs than Braun(154) if you just want to talk offense
Giving the ROY award to Braun is a joke.
BTW - I'm a Cardinals fan - But, right is right and this was just wrong.

Braun isn't even close defensively, but his offensive numbers were much more impressive. I was especially impressed by the difference in their slugging percentages, where Braun had 150 points more than TT.
I like TT a lot, but I wasn't impressed by his performance outside Colorado. He hit 70 points higher with the benefit of Coors (.326 to .256) and had only 6 homers on the road. Braun had 17 homers both at home and on the road, and his BA was almost the same (.326 and .322). Tulowitzki is an amazing fielder, but Braun deserved the award in my books.
Of course, this is one where I wouldn't have been upset either way....two good candidates.

This race was really close but I disagree with the voting outcome as well. I might be biased because I went to high school with Troy but he deserves this award. He helped the Rockies get into the world series and his numbers were just as good as Braun's. I thought that he would be the sure pick for Rookie of the Year but this award is solely based on individual performances. I hope that ARoD never get's a ring because he doesn't deserve it!

Braun put up better numbers than Pujols did his rookie year back in 2001 and now Pujols is considered one of the best in baseball. and like you said Braun didn't even play the entire year and he still put up some of the best rookie numbers ever. i think they picked the right guy, besides not making it into the playoffs never effects a ROY award, that only effects a MVP award.

Braun is simply an offensive monster. It doesn't matter that Troy put up gold glove defense and insane rookie SS numbers. Braun tore it up from the day he was called up to the end of the season, and his team very nearly ended up in the playoffs. If it were my vote, I would've voted for Troy, but unfortunately, rookies usually only get noticed for their offense.

Troy Tulowitzky had the edge defensively, but Braun had a much better season batting. The fact that Tulowitzki had a good postseason shouln't affect the voting because Braun didn't have a chance in the playoffs.

Your team doesn't have to win for consideration for ROY. Braun was well deserving of the award as the best rookie in the NL this year

Braun's stats for the year were slightly better than Tulowitzki's, but Tulowitzki's performance in the playoffs should have won him the award.

I felt the award could have gone either way, and I wouldn't feel as if the other candidate was cheated out of the award. I can see why each of them might have been chosen.

Ryan Braun had almost identical stats as A-Rod this year. 2 less HRs but a better BA. I think that shows he didn't steal it from tulo.
