I would draw names. That was everyone only has to buy 1 gift, but everyone gets a gift. Also, if there is someone who doesn't like their gift, the giver doesn't have to be embarassed in front of everyone because its secret.

In my family we have been doing a white elephant exchange for the adults. There are a lot of variations, which you could probably find in an internet search, but basically everyone buys a gift that can be for anyone. We usually have a price limit of $40. We also exchange stocking stuffers. And, everyone gets presents for the little kids, because they really have the most fun on Christmas.

My husband's family has drawn names in the past, and it's fun to see who you get, and also who gets you! It's supposed to be a secret, which makes it more fun. I'd go with that option, but again, set a dollar limit.

Do the family one, I think it would be really cool to give a whole family a day trip or something.
