Because that would be unfair to our businessmen. They would have to deal with all those evil liberal regulations and socialist agencies like the FDA, EPA, and OSHA.

You want free markets and cheap crap, you got it. Enjoy that lead and MDMA.

Children can be entertained and stimulated if their parents just spent time with them. I have been in doctor's office waiting room when parents were at their wits end because their kids were sooo bored and found a piece of paper and various other things in my purse to entertain them. If you only have an imagination you can create entertainment from nothing. And even if you don't have anything material to work with, try using your facial expressions and your hands to have fun with kids. It is ridiculous the amount of plastic and more or less useless stuff that people buy for their kids. Too busy to spend the time to think about doing something original and taking the easy way out. Buy a toy or a movie? I doubt that is the right solution to the problem

Don't be ridiculous. If American corporations did that, they'd actually have to pay decent wages and observe human rights laws, instead of paying 62 cents an hour (yes, that's the average wage for the workers in China) or using child labor.

How do yu expect corporations to pay their executives $100 million a year if they fritter away all the money on things like living wages, benefits, ad worker safety?

Very few people will actually pay what an American manufactured good will cost.

Manufacturing in America is far to expensive for most companies,. Manufacturing is far to costly and intensive a process for most companies to take on, and it is cheaper to do it over seas. Their bottom line looks good and when things go awry they have somebody to blame.

Like it or not this is capitalism, the system America fights so hard to promote.

We do have things made in the U.S. But, they usually cost a little more, or are harder to find. If everyone spent a little extra and paid attention to where things are made and distributed, then we could keep the U.S. manufacturers in business. We've actually started watching this stuff closely with our kids... its a little harder to shop, but worth it.

A news station was asking viewers to email them and let them know where we can buy American-made toys.
Someone needs to start a business real quick here.

because our own companies can not compete with China
American workers want things like decent pay, decent work conditions, permission to have children, health care benefits, etc, and all of those situations are costly, and those costs are passed on to the consumer
China makes things dirt cheap, and we like to save money

And why not ban all the shite coming into your nation from China? After all, they will not allow you to get those 'dangerous' drugs from Canada...
