And right after each hit, they showed a similar (but far worse) hit dished out by Scott Stevens or Mark Messier (surprisingly Messier ran a lot of people into the boards) during their career.
Two weeks ago, Bob McKenzie did a similar thing showing video of Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux hooking everybody on the ice in an attempt to get the puck in an attempt to say, hooking has always been a part of the game. There is hooking (trying to shake the puck from a player) and there is HOOKING (trying to knock a guy on his keester).
The gist of it all was that this sort of thing (what happened to Bergeron in particular) is all part of them game.

There will alweays be cheap shots. I've watched Boulerice's hit on Kesler many times, and I've watched Jones hit on Bergeron several times. In the 70s and 80s, both of those were commonplace in the NHL.

I am a flyers fan, and i think its good they play hard hockey. They need to play smash mouth hockey and they are lookin good this year.
