Yes. if you aren't familiar with the Ripple Effect all it takes is to look at a ripple in a body of water. even the tiny waves it produces reaches the other side of the water even if we do not see it.

Yes, Every thought, belief, feeling, spoken word and level of certainty in these things, is a prayer before God. Man has dominion over all things of the earth.

I have great respect for NBM and her answer is intriging. Her position is that these things only affect or effect the world we live in ie planet earth. I see her point... could be, but I am about the unity of the one. To her defense the Torah says
God gave us dominion over all the earth. It did not say over all the universe. She is way hip to these things.

The Tao, the planc scale, quantum physics, the infinite nature of God all lead me to believe our revelance is universal because "all is one."

It is like light. We can see it from hundreds of millions of light years away. It is still getting it after all this time. It continues to move outward. Kind of makes one think on an infinite, universal scale.

You can not unring a bell!

Yes you have dominion over all things thus consequence is a bigger word then you think. However, if it is only dominion over all the earth.... No biggie..... I can live with that.

Blessings and peace to all,
All and all,
B

No. It may create effects, but very small ones. We're a pretty closed system, our little planet earth... if I step on a bug that was an evolutionary half-breed that may have been a progenitor to a species of insect that would have changed our eco-system, it still would mean very little to Alpha Centuri.

It will not affect the grand scheme of things throughout the universe.

But our words, thoughts and actions do have consequences within our own personal universes. And really in the grand scheme of our lives, what happens on Pluto, let alone on some planet in another part of the galaxy is immaterial.

Peace

Oh it most certainly can. Even the slightest imbalance in the natural order can have obvious ripple effects throughout the environment.

This certain concept can be applied to mankind. A slight ideological nudge or a slip of the tongue can have serious repercussions and divert society towards a different path. History has many examples of this.

Yes, Ritz. Our very thoughts, words and actions, no matter how small, are collectively accountable for either the success and failure of our planet. They determine how our world in this great universe is taken care of. How the future shapes depends mostly on our dealings with those around us ---living or non-living... And by the total consequence of our minimal contributions are we made greatly essential.

Yes. But let's leave the Universe out of it for a moment.
All your thoughts and actions are either a moving toward or a moving away from your potential. We are all very well aware of which direction we are moving when we think or do our 'hidden' thoughts or actions...this knowledge changes us ...and, to take the shortest route back to your question...if we change, the Universe changes...

Absolutely. Thoughts, for example, if given time to ferment in our minds can often lead to words. Words, if spoken over a given duration can lead to actions. And actions always have consequences, whether they be large or small, good or bad.

Our lives are mostly shaped by the little things we think, say and do. Positive thinking and speaking can lead to positive actions, greatly enriching our lives. Negativity breeds negatively in similar regard.

The Bible succinctly puts it this way, "if you sow the wind, you will reap the whirlwind." Wind, though insignificant in and of itself, can breed terrible destruction if given sufficient force.

Yes, everything can change due to the chain reaction of a small action or word. Yet sometimes it may not, and when it does change, the magnitude of the effect will vary depending on the situations.

Yes, b/c "as a man ( or woman) thinketh in his ( or her) heart, so is he ( or she)"... what you think determines what you will do or say. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction--basic physics... true in life also.
If you hurt just one person today and they go on to hurt just one person... and so on... How many hurting people will there be in just days?
If you help just one person today and they go on an help just one person... wouldn't the world be a much better place?
We should guard our thot's against evil the same as we would guard our bodies against germs that could kill us.
Together we can make the world a better place just by thinking good and positive tho'ts.

the butterfly's wings in china affect our weather in america... or so the thepory says. true? maybe not directly, but each action, no matter how seemingly insignificant, can lead to a reaction. the observer may not sense it directly, but this does not disprove its existence.

as in ecology, every tiny step, no matter how small, adds or subtracts from the cumulative whole. nothing is wasted, no effort useless. similarly, eveyr thought and action we perform has an effect, even if only on ourselves.

to think that we have no effect or impact upon our world (the universe) is to underestimate the capability man has to affect his environment... for better or worse.

Oh of course. One little word one tiny action can have a bolt that can be felt on the other side of the world. I just found that out these last couple of days.
