yes, if your shirt or whatever you are wear for a top has some sort of brown in it, or complements brown. if not, then no, you should find either a different coat/shoes or pants.
you can also add a pop of color with a tie. orange looks great wtih grey and brown.

Yes. The key to matching, is always making sure that your top matches your bottom. So if you have a brown shirt on, you can wear brown shoes. =)
