I want to get your opinion, does Joe Sakic have a chance at finishing second alltime in points, only to wayne gretzky?(by the way he's gotten 205 since the begiining of the lockout, including 100 points last season,) he needs exactly 201 points to pass mark messier.

As of today........Joe Sakic has 1607 points
As of today........Mark Messier has 1887 points

That is a 280 point difference as of today. I'm not sure where you get 201 from.

Based on Sakic stating that 2009-2010 will be his last season, that leaves him 229 games in which to score those 280 points, or an average of 1.223 points a game. Not impossible, but highly unlikely at this stage of his career.

I don't think so, I've always thought he'll retire before 09-10, but the way he's playing, he might play for a while after that. He could do it, but I really, really doubt it.

Wow LITY, I knew there was something wrong with his calculations because I never thought Sakic was this close to Messier, but I felt too lazy to look up the stats lol. OK, now I'm almost positive he won't pass him. It is looking like he might play for longer than I originally thought, but only time will tell. Besides, what matters is PPG, and Sakic is very high up in all time PPG, I think in the top 5, much higher than Messier in any case.

LITY, what's going on with Theodore? You said you'd email back, but you still haven't. Do they still want to trade him?

fairly, final 365 days Statsney helped super Joe hit the one hundred+ pts mark. (I ought to upload that Sakic's play saved my fantasy group). With that for the time of innovations, particular, I do have faith he will score one hundred+ back. the regulations enable super gamers like Joe to discover open ice. He nevertheless has between the deadliest photos interior the NHL. He can pull the set off on that wrist shot at any time. The addition of Smyth ought to help his powerplay numbers. Smyth will draw interest in front of the internet, permitting Joe and Statsney to discover open ice to fire photos. Colorado has extra somewhat some weapons to a stacked group. There fairly is not any reason Joe shouldn't score one hundred+

I was about to go check those stats until I saw LITY's response; I knew something was wrong with that...

Plus; even if he did that, he has to make sure he doesn't get immediately removed a season or so later by Jaromir Jagr who is only 64 pts behind Sakic and 3 years younger...

It could definitely happen. Even if he started to decline, that's still only 67 points a year over three years. Definitely could see it happening, so long as he stays healthy and motivated.
