throwing the dirt into the grave after the coffin has been lowered.
It is such a great idea cuz it really makes clear to all the mourners (especially those participating in the dirt throwing) that the person is dead and gone.

the food. at least that's how you do it in El Salvador. people get together at night for some sweet bread, tamales, and coffee. but that all comes after the "prayer" which is believed to guide, the soul of, the person to heaven or a better after life. But in my defense i make sure that the person who prepares the meal is not related at all to the deceased preferably someone who was hired to prepare the food.

what the heck fav. part let me think i don't know

maybe its looking at the empty body of one i kept so dear to my heart and the thought of them being in Hell makes me wanna throw up -wait thats not it

maybe its the songs that remind us all of him/her-no that makes me sob

maybe it's the ending knowing the service is over-no that makes me also sick b/c everyone takes off and leaves the family (or sometimes widow[er] ) to grief and try to manage on their own

None of it...........I hate going and I hate when it's my family especially a parent who died before they should of. My dad and mom. None of it's fun and being sad for 6-9 months isn't a great thing.
