Details are important. My shift manager began his shift, 30 minutes before mine ended. I had been so buisy that day that I had not been able to take my 10 minute break. Im a delivery driver, and had just returned from a delivery. ~15 minutes before my scheduled leave. My manager begins his day by bickering at me, because i didnt help a girl who was loading her car with things supposedly. I told him she had already finished before i arrived. he continued bickering about it and made statements such as "chivelry is dead" and he knew i was a virgin, then began to make derrogative statements about that. Down talking me, I felt uncomfortable, so I told him i was taking my 10 min break. took it, returned and he said that i couldnt leave until he said i could leave. Saying he has the right to hold me there as long as he wanted, when i refused to stay he said he felt threatened... and was going to have me fired. He commanded I leave. I did. on time. I felt uncomfortable and was happy to leave.

no he cannot make you stay past your time to leave. the laws require that each full time employee must have at least two 15 minute breaks during the work day. If you were on time and he threatened you then You might contact your mamager above him with your problems then go to the labor relations board, unlike the other answerer, unles you have a written contract, an employer can fire you at anytime.

If this is real, report it to someone higher up before he does. Manager or not, he has no right to belittle any employee.
