"I like your tutu. Do you have a purse to match it?"
Avery is one class act. Too bad it's LOW class.

Well i just wanted to post on this one, being both a cancer survivor and a rangers fan. I hear people say that he said things about blakes cancer, but for now these are rumors, and people who take rumors as truths are fools, so i will wait to hear exactly what was said to make a comment on that.
But as a rangers fan i know that it is averys job to get in the head of the other team, and as we saw in the playoffs, if you give him a few games he WILL disrupt the entire team, he is dam good at his job. And in gettin in the heads of other players things get heated and things are said (somtimes things do go to far), and yes it would be insulting to say somthing about an illness such as cancer.
But for now the only facts we have is that avery put out an oficial statment saying he said nothing about his cancer, and blake has made no comment either way, so until things are setteled i am inclined to believe the only man who made a comment.
And just remember, just cause everyone believes doesn't make it true, and people don't like avery (well people who arn't rangers fans) and some people are inclined to beilieve what there told. But wait for the facts

I have been out of the loop a little bit the last few days, my high school league had a bench clearer this weekend which I have been reviewing video in order to dole out the proper suspensions. This is the first I am hearing about it.
My question, and LITY may be the most qualified to answer, but what would you think of that would be said that would warrant not one but two of his teammates, one of whom would be considered an "old school" leader ratting him out? How well will that go over in the locker room? I am sure that if these guys threw him under the bus he must be deserving, but I cannot imagine a teammate giving up a player like.

How low do you have to have be, to have Tucker make comments on how you have no class ?
I'm not sure why this is news, seeing as hes been accused of racism, bigotry towards the french-canadians among a few other complaints... Why not add making fun of cancer patients to the list ? He can perfect his art of mouthing off next year to comments about molesting the corpse of a players dying child when he/she bites the dust or perhaps just go all out and rape Wayne Gretzky on the ice after a win over the Coyotes...
Theres getting under someones skins, and then theres making comments that if you said somewhere else, they might find you dead, floating in the river or stabbed to death in some dark alley... Sean Avery tends to like dancing around on that line, and one of these days he going to lose his balance...

Sadly enough, I liked Avery, in the little time he played here in Detroit, but he realy seems to take things, to a point you just shouldnt go. The lame excuse about happening in the heat of the game, is weak. Calling, I believe it was Brasheer, a monkey, it just makes him lose respect, not only from all players, but worst yet, his teammates. worst of all, the guy has some talent, but acts like a mental midget. As far as Fleury, you people remember Sheldon Kennedy, who was molested by his coach in Juniors?? Fleury played on that same team, and all his problems really came to the forefront, right after Kennedy came out about being molested. The incident with Chelios, happened not very long after that. akes ya think, huh?

who cares, its hockey. people trash talk all the time. if avery said something about blakes cancer im sure he wasnt the FIRST person to say something. and obviously blake knows someone is going to say something. he skated up to avery first and said something. avery responded with comments and the little squirrel blake slashed him. this is not the first time blake has pulled this crap - look at the couple times is speared crosby last season.
avery did his job. got under the skin of tucker and blake, got in a fight, had an assist, scored a goal, and the rangers won.
if he gets suspended for something he said on the ice, thats pathetic. this is a professional sport, and these things happen. everyone needs to get over it!

Theoren Fleury (another Theo!) was just on Hockey Night After Hours, and he openly discussed his alcoholism and recovery, GO THEO! But this Avery question reminds me of when Fleury was struggling and was forced into treatment and evaluations etc. One night Chelios said SOMETHING, (I know, NOT Chelly!) to Fleury, didn't hit him, just said somethin' and Theo went off for about 10 minutes. Was ready to fight EVERYBODY! I told my brother that Chelly probably called him a drunk, asked him if he was drunk or offered him a post game night cap!! Avery probably said the worst possible, most personal thing....

Avery has an appointment with Colin Campbell and Gary Bettman tomorrow to discuss his comments. Sather believes that a possible suspension will be forthcoming based on the information he has been given.
Sather also mentioned that Avery has been fined internally a significant amount of money for his comments as relayed to him by Jagr and Shanahan.
Poor Avery, it's pretty bad when your own teammates rat you out.

There was a question asked earlier today (it's still open so you can look for it) with links to what he apparently said. Something about Blake's cancer, but the URLs have the word "rumours" in them so don't believe everything in the article.

He was telling Blake about his encounters "behind" closed doors with Jagr.
