sims 2 i cant delete furniture someone please help?

i mustve done something wrong when i go to buy mode i try to grab it and it says objeft in use, but there is no one using it and on my couch when there is no one on it i cant delete it either, and my sim cant sit on a part of my couch :(

type in the cheat - boolProp testingcheatsenabled true
Then click and press shift on the chair, and find the option force error - then reset. If that doesnt work - ie: your sims still cant sit on it or you cant delete it, then go to force error again and press delete - which will delete it for good.
That Cheat will do so much for you

I'm not sure if this is what's happening but, just because someone isn't sitting on the couch doesnt mean it's not in use. Before You go to buy mode try looking at all you sims in the house's actions. They could be walking over to use the couch or something.
They might not be able to sit on that part of the couch because you could have something blocking the way like a coffee table or something like that. I don't know I would have to look at your house to answer that one.

You have to use a cheat shift ctrl c move_objects on then go to buy mode and click on the chair or object and delete.You don't need boolProp this cheat can seriously harm your game if you don't turn that cheat off every time your done with that cheat.You can also open cheat window and type help that will display all cheats that are available and safe to use.

Shumy2 has a good answer, just wanted to add that if your sim is wanting to watch TV the couch may be "in use" even though it is no shown in the little windows. Also, pets will also use the couch sometimes, don't forget to check them as well.

I don't know what the problem is, but you can Always delete stuff by openeing the cheat menu (CTRL + SHIFT + C) and the typing in: Move_objects on. This lets you do a lot of stuff like overlap objects, etc.)
