100 sq. feet

Note: A large American football field would be 48,000 sq. feet of on field playing surface and 9600 sq. feet of end zone.

100 sq feet

lets say the large football field is 20 X 20 which equals 400. half the size would be 10 x 10 which equals 100. That works with any equation where the dimentions equal 400.

Well first you would have to find masurments that give you an area of 400.
Ex:25 feet in length and 16 feet in width. A=l x W
=25 x 16
Then you divide both measure ments by 2 =400
which gives you 12.5 and 8 which you multiply anget 100 feet.

You can just create an example. If the main field is 40x10, then halve both the dimensions so it is 20x5. Multiply 20x5 and get 100.

Basically, if you halve all the dimensions, the area of the smaller quadrilateral is 1/4 of the area of the larger quadrilateral.

100 sq. ft

Because the area of a rectangle is denoted by L (length) times width (W) = area
so lw=a
or lw=400

since each length is decreased by half
the components are (1/2 L) and (1/2 W)
when inserted,
(1/2 L)(1/2 W) =
and simplified, we get
1/4[(LW) = A]
so we are essentially multiplying each side by 1/4 leaving you with
1/4(LW)=1/4(A)
1/4(LW)=1/4(400)
1/4(LW)=100 Ans.

L*W=A

(L/2)*(W/2)=1/4(L*W)=1/4 A

your answer is 100.

think of it in terms of numbers, if your field was 100 ft by 4ft for example... cut both of those number in half and see what you get. 50ft by 2 ft makes it 100 square feet.
