We know the brain without oxygen will die within five minutes. This we learned in CPR class. Now think about decapitation. If your head is separated from its body, the brain most likely is still aware. How can we tell? A man about to be executed told the executioner that if he could blink his eyes after the blade fell, he would. Well, he blinked 17 times. Painful? Probably. But that is a no-brainer. lol

Beheading requires a skilled executioner with a lot of strength, a very steady hand and a good eye, if it is to sever the criminal's head with a single stroke. The person guillotined becomes unconscious very quickly and dies from shock and anoxia due to haemorrhage and loss of blood pressure within less than 60 seconds. It has often been reported that the eyes and mouths of people beheaded have shown signs of movement. It has been calculated that the human brain has enough oxygen stored for metabolism to persist about 7 seconds after the supply is cut off. As in hanging, the heart continues to beat for some time after decapitation.

Painless? The spinal cord would be severed so in all probability, if it was a quick clean cut, yes. However, there is a theory that there is sufficient oxygen remaining in the brain after decapitation, that would allow you to see your own headless body. I think I'd prefer a certain amount of pain to avoid that experience.

heavily? of course. in case you rather start up digging into 'pre' historic previous you get some extraordinary inconsistencies, good right down to what feels like present day alphabet letters on stone age artifacts. look up 'Vinca'. it rather is a eu writing gadget that pre-dates each thing in the midsection East, yet you do not in all probability hear approximately it. there is greater evidence that there develop into some trans Atlantic commerce in historic circumstances, and historic previous from Hindu Vedas describes The Lake of Kashmir draining all of sudden from an Earthquake to style the Vale of Kashmir 50,000 years in the past. i think of an undesirable lot of historic previous is amazingly rather lost under some feet of airborne dirt and dirt. Lord in basic terms is familiar with what's under the Med or the Bay of Cambay. I reckon there's a outdoors danger that there have been nukes at one element too (see the Mahabharata).

severing the head from the body would not be painless. You would most likely bleed to death before asphixiating, but you would still be alive for a minute or two. Your last thoughts would be looking out and seeing your world coming to an end (unless blindfolded, of course), not being able to breath, and likely a great deal of pain in your neck.
Lethal Injection consists of putting someone into a sleep state, then deeper into a coma, then stopping the heart. Theoretically, your last thought would be falling asleep.

I don't believe so...in the past during the Roman Empire, it is said that the soldiers would decapitate their enemies, and make them look at the rest of their body, because the nerves were still there and their brains could still think. So I believe the answer is no. I would prefer the Of Mice and Men method myself.

No! Sitting in front of YA until the wee small hours, yr brain slowly atrophying until you feel nothing, slip away into a coma and your brain leakes out onto the floor. Gotta be painless!
Thats what I'm doing now. Suicide by YA, LOL!

No one has returned to let anyone know that its painless. I think any death is painless, its another form of deep sleep.

It depends on how it's done. A quick cut from a guillotine would work but to have your head hacked off, that would be horrible. Also, your head can live for about three minutes after it's severed so it's theoretically possible to see your headless body.
