Besides the fact that it's illegal? Isn't that a pretty big reason? You can lose a whole lot if you get caught, so that's a pretty big reason for me.
Also, it'll screw up your still-developing body and mind. Your brain isn't fully developed until your early twenties.

Five things:
1. Maturity. Like it or not, a 14-year old is not as mature as a 21-year old. Drinking takes great responsibility, and face it: you are not the epitomy of responsibility at your age. Sorry, but it's true. I was there once, so I know!
2. You are not legally responsible for your actions. Your parents are. I think you could make a good argument that an 18-year old should be allowed to drink, because they are legally responsible for themselves. If YOU get drunk, however, and do something stupid or illegal, your PARENTS will get in major trouble. That right there makes it a BAD idea for you to drink. You can get your parents into a lot of hurt.
3. Alcohol is potentially addictive. It always starts as "a little buzz," but that eventually can escalate into substance abuse. You may think it will never happen to you, but everyone alcoholic in the world thought the same thing when they started.
4. You are young, and your body is not fully developed. Alcohol kills brain cells, and this is particularly dangerous when you are young and those brain cells are still developing. Regular drinking for a person your age could damage your congnitive ability and hurt you psychologically for life. Once those brain cells are gone, you can't easily get them back.
5. Driving isn't the only thing that can go wrong with drinking. You binge once, and you could die, especially at your age. I'm dead serious. Thousands of grown adults end up in the hospital every year, and many die, because of one bad night when they drank too much. Drinking causes you to lose your inhibitions and good judgement. You get your buzz, but then you think you can have "one more," and every one you have makes you less able to make smart decisions. The end result could end up being death from alcohol poisoning, amongst other things.
Are you an idiot? I'd like to think you are not, but if you drink at your age, guess what? You are. Be smart.

It is believed that minors do not have the mental or mature capabilities to deal with the responsibility of drinking alcohol. Although there are alot of adults who also do not have the capabilities of drinking responsibly they can be punished accordingly.
Minors come under a different justice system therefore when drinking alcohol, if they make a fatal mistake they can not be punished the same as an adult.
Minors are also more apt to getting drunk quicker than an adult and must be supervised closely. Having smaller bodies and organs to dispose of the alcohol.
The fact that you stated " its always good fo a little buzz" shows that you are not ready to drink alcohol.

I agree with the first two answers to this question. I am sixteen and because I know of the dangers and disadvantages of drinking at this age, I have no desire to do so. You don't think you'll go overboard, but you never know until it happens. Really, if people thought it was healthy or safe for kids our age to drink, they wouldn't mind letting us do it, but for now, they're doing it for our own safety and our future. We've got a lot going for us already, don't rain on a party just because you can't drink. You can find something else to make you happy. Good luck! =]

Its wrong for a lot of reasons. I'm 15 and just a week ago I went to school drunk because I was stressed out with everything in life going on. I got caught got suspended and lost friends. Its one illegal so that alone makes it a big WRONG thing to do. Anything is that your still really young and have life ahead of you and so do I. I wasnt really that drunk as I acted but I still was drunk. And a "friend" of mine turned me in. Yes I wanted to kill her, but after I was sober I thought about it and was sorta happy that she did. It woudnt be illegal if people thought kids could handle drinking in a right way. And to be honest people who are 25 arent even miture enough to drink. It really should be 30. But its not. They have it a law that you have to be 21 because once your 21 your on your own and making your own choices. Yes I want it to be legal in some ways but I'm glad its not, because I have seen kids drunk to the point where they are not even aware who is around them. I have had a best friend get in a car crash and die because he was DRUNK. People don't really relize what it can do to you. You might think you can handle it, but you just don't know for sure. I have seen my best friend so drunk that she was crawling on the ground looking for a fairy! It was horrible and I wanted to cry because someone kept giving her drink after drink after drink. She got home and was put in the hospital. You don't know how serious drinking is untill you have been through things that I have been through. Yes "its cool to drink" but really its not. It makes you stupid. It makes you look stupid. It makes everything and everyone act stupid. I'm not saying you shouldn't do it because if you want to skrew up your life then go right ahead I just hope your really careful with your drinking and be responible when your drinking and please don't get in a car with anyone drunk. It will be your biggest mistake, because even if something doesn't go wrong just think of what might of happend and what could happen next time. Just Please Be Careful.

You answered your own question; as long as you don't go overboard.
At 14 years old, there is no stopping after one beer.
Further, without the wisdom which comes from age, 14 y/o's may start ditching school to get loaded; thereafter, causing trouble while in their drunken stupor.
If college kids and adults have issues concerning drinking responsibly, how can 14 y/o's behave responsibly?

Because we know live in a "do gooder" state.
Your youth has been regulated away from you in order to protect your youth.
You can't win this one my dear. The American Puritan Ethic is alive and well and have the government in their pockets.
Don't be in too big of a rush to grow up. Other than drinking, being an adult is pretty sucky.
Peace

because its scientific fact that at your age your brain is still developing. When you introduce alcohol into the brain it stops its growth. there is reasons why your not going to get sympathy, not to mention you dont have the age, you dont have the wisdom and experience to handle it. but most of all is the effects on the young brain

The problem is that ,many will get in the car and drive away. Or many drink themselves to death. It is just a matter of maturity, and even 21 people are not still responsible.
