I sell on ebay. When I take my smaller items, like a sewing pattern to town, I only have to pay .58 to send one pattern, when I make a label thru paypal it costs way more and also costs me costs of ink, paper, wear and tear on printer and all, but mostly when selling small items, the shipping costs of paypal eat me up and I DO NOT WANT TO RAISE MY SHIPPING PAST TRUE COST. I used to have a small meter machine in 2001 , I think that may have been before paypal kind of took over ???? any ideas, I'm a bit antiquated as I am almost house bound. thanks

Stamps.com costs $15 / month even if you don't use it. It is very handy but will also use a lot of paper and ink unless you go with the small labels or use their print a full sheet of stamps. What about usps.com? You can print postage there but I've never used it.
Stamps.com does save you on delivery conf. costs. 13 cent on first class, cheaper insurance and free del. conf on priority packages.

After you put postage on all your packages, you can request a mailman to stop by and pick them all up from your house. Do this on http://www.usps.com/pickup/welcome.htm?from=home&page=schedulepickup
