The doctor told me to go get one but a lot of people tell me it's not safe when you're pregnant to get one. And why can't I get the normal and comfy one?

Since I'm pregnant, I feel like being raped all over again because everyone seems to want to see me naked and touch me where I don't want to be touched even if I say no.

I will also add that the doctor that sees me is not the one doing the ultrasound. I don't know who is gonna do it because she sends me in a place downtown that I don't know. We just got posted to this base so I'm still exploring.

When you are early in your pregnancy a vaginal ultrasound helps to find the baby better since the baby is so low. If you have issues that are justified and you don't want to do this, you don't have to. They can wait until you are further along in your pregnancy and then have a regular ultrasound on your lower tummy. Unfortunately, being pregnant results in a lot of tests, but I have had only one doctor examine me for the last 4 years. Find one doctor and stick with that doctor.

I understand you were raped, and that is not easy but you need to look at it as... these people are there for your child, they do not care what you look like naked and they need to check you. I am sure if there was a way the could do this without touching women they would. But please remember they are helping you and taking care of your unborn child. It will soon be over... but to insure your health and that little one you need to do what the doctor says. They are not there to hurt you. Have you tried a women doctor? You may feel more comforable with a women than a man, and if you have a male nurse don't be scared to ask for a girl nurse, they will understand. Good luck and I hope things get better.

Transvaginal ultrasound is a method of imaging the genital tract in females. A hand held probe is inserted directly into the vagina. The probe is moved within the vaginal cavity to scan the pelvic structures, while ultrasound pictures are viewed on a monitor. The test can be performed to evaluate women with infertility problems, abnormal bleeding, sources of unexplained pain, congenital malformations of the uterus and ovaries, and possible tumors and infection.

You should find alternative health care if you feel uncomfortable with how they treat you at your current doctor's office. Although some procedures are necessary to prevent problems or to maintain your health, you should not be doing things that make you uncomfortable

Yes, the ultrasound is safe, don't worry. If you are not very far along then it is the only way to see the fetus.

You don't have to allow anyone to touch you or see you naked if it makes you uncomfortable, however, it is best to be checked during you pregnancy to make sure things are okay. If you are really uncomfortable then maybe you should look for a different doctor, one you are comfortable with. I would suggest a female.

It's perfectly fine, it doesn't go in the cervix. It's the best one for early in pregnancy. It sounds like you may need counseling for whatever has happened to you though to help you get through this..

And if you say no to ANY treatment or procedure they cannot do it to you. You have the right to refuse anything you don't want. And if you dont' feel comfortable with the Dr you have you should probably find one you like better if you can...maybe a female under the circumstances.

Ultrasounds have not have been given any result on the baby, they are completely risk-free, purely sound waves. i replaced into having one each and every 2 weeks till 13 weeks because of fact I went to a fertility hospital the place i replaced into heavily monitored. Now I want i'd desire to have yet another one reason they are SO cool yet my dr. suggested i do no longer want from now on :(

They are prefectly safe and often recommended for dating when a women is irregular or uncertain on last period. I had two with my first pregnancy and one with my second. You get a better view in early pregnancy since the baby is so extremely small. You'll have normal ultrasounds later in pregnancy, at least one around 20 weeks.
I know at least 5 women personally who have had the vaginal ultrasounds in early pregnancy and everyone's babies are fine!

A trans vaginal u/s is perfectly safe. I've had 2 of them.

As for losing 4 babies in 4 months I find that hard to believe as it would take you at least a month in between then to conceive. Sorry for your loss.

You need to talk to a councellor.

I just had one done, and they told me it was fine. THEY LIED! I went to the hospital for an ultrasound, they did this kind, because I was to early to do the belly one. After they done it I looked down and their was blood everywhere! I started crying and screaming at them telling them that they caused me to lose my baby. I even went as far as pulling my IV's out myself, I was so upset. They told me not to worry that it was normal. It took six hours before I stopped bleeding. I turned out that it wasn't the baby. They had ripped me open inside with the cathator. (You have to have one of this and they hurt like crap.) Though I didn't hurt my baby, I still don't think their safe. If you have it done, you'll see so for yourself. By the way, my aunt lost her second child after one of these ultrasounds. Well good luck, but if you can wait until your about 12-14 weeks. You get a belly one then!

Yes, it's safe. I had one with all three of my kids and they are fine. It's a little uncomfortable, but you'll be ok. If you are pregnant, then you will have to get use to be touched, honey. That comes with the dr. appts and all that stuff. Just wait until you are in labor, then u will be dying for someone to touch you to help get the baby out. (You must not be very far along, or they would do one externally)
