I am a negotiator in the firm of Lester D.K.Chow and Associates. In 1990, we successfully secured Saddam's agreement to withdraw from Kuwait. Much much later, we tried to ask John Edwards as to his position on Iraq. He wouldn't answer. From what we can privately determine, he doesn't give a (blank) about the lives of the people of Iraq, if a million or so die "So, what!" was the implied response.
Sometimes, political candidates say things privately and not publicly. What a candidate feels deep in his heart or says tell us people what the man is made of and the kind of person he would be as President.
Some Democrats are two faced with the voting public. Other candidates are open and express their dismay and anger at terrorist (people fighting to defend their homelands from American aggression).
I like snnoogles would like to see a good person become the next US President.
John Edwards may fool some people, but I see him as being a hypocrite and a weasel! Especially, on Iraq.

Mr. Taco, McCain was always good to us and has always treated us courteously. The same we can say about Bill Clinton and people from the Reagan-Nixon camp, our political affiliation, originally, if we ever had one. We found Giuliani to be a mean (blank) and we approached him respectfully. Hillary ignores us as if we did not exist and our negotiating work is never factored into her future Presidential agenda. How can people be so closed minded on so important an issue?
I wish I had an answer to the last question.

refugio and bekindtoanimals22, the purpose of my posting was to share information with people. It is my opinion that everyone running for the highest office in the land must be someone extraordinary. No such person exist today!
John Edwards looks very nice, but when you try to confront him on specific issues, he doesn't want to reply or commit himself. The same we've found for Obama. And Obama was supposed to be a champion for the American people!
I do not like, nor appreciate bashing people. I am sorry and I do not want to do this, but I do it because I feel that the next President has to be an honorable person. Public opinion counts a lot and when people continually speak about people, on their merits, the right person ideally is the one to get elected. In theory it works.
If all of the candidates do not measure up, public pressure and public opinions do count and office holders as well as candidates do give some weight to issues of right versus wrong.

It would seem that you dislike the man & that is your right. But, please dislike him for reasons that qualify other than for ones that you attribute to him by his refusal to answer a question you asked of him. I don't know how much later than 1990 you asked this question but, isn't it possible that he really didn't have an answer for how he felt about Iraq at that time? I didn't have anything but a vague opinion on Iraq until the nonsense started about their having nuclear weapons was raised as a reason to send our troops into the country in 2003. If you are an American, you seem to have a very low opinion of your country! If you are not an American, then why are you commenting on our elections?
Do you happen to think that we want to see someone that isn't a good person as our President, we already have that & are very displease with his job as our leader.
I don't happen to think that John Edwards is a hyprocite nor a weasel! I think that he is a very fine man that has taken some positions that are not exactly what the voters want to hear but, these are his stands & he hasn't back off of them since he began his campaign, while others seem to be changing their positions or not fully explaining where they stand on certain positions. As I stated in the beginning, you have a right to your opinion & I have just stated mine!

I suppose you and your law firm represent yourself to Oppose John Edwards??? If your firm opposes him and you are using this forum to denounce him I must question your ethics.
I think John Edwards is a good man who envisions the America I grew to love. I think he has been honest and open and the worst thing people can seem to find wrong with him is that he is rich, takes care of himself, and wants to hold on to the middle class.
I think he has been clear that he wants to bring home 40,000 to 50,000 American troops. He wants to end the OIL war which was initially named Operation Iraqi Liberation, but is unsure of the state this administration will leave our country and our troops in January 2009.
I don't think Hillary has given an answer that is clearer - as she will assign study groups for just about everything. (That to me is less of and answer than an incomplete answer)
In any event, I do not think John Edwards is a weasel. I believe he is interested in helping Americans and looking at domestic issues and building America back to respectability in International circles.
I personally want to embark on International travel and proudly say I am an American without fear of repercussion again in my lifetime!

Weasels are honest predatory mammals in the family Mustelidae, preying on rodents and vermin. Your comparison is rude and insulting. Even skunks have dignity.

Yeah, other politicians NEVER act like thi-pfft! Ha ha ha! Sorry. I tried to say that with a straight face, but I couldn't keep it up. Just about every single thing you say here about Edwards, even if true, can easily be applied to other candidates, Democrat and Republican alike. Sounds to me like you wrote this with a biased agenda.

I hope your firm agrees with your political opinions, because by naming it, you put yourself forward as their representative. In seeking to give yourself credibility, you are actually jeopardizing your job and the credibility of your employer.

Your reference to the 1990 situation doesn't make sense to the present situation, either.
