You multiply the content of one bracet by the content of the other bracket:

(n x a - n) (n x a - n) =
nxa(nxa - n) - n (nxa - n)
(nxa)(nxa) - (nxa)(n) - (n)(nxa) -(n)(-n) =
(nxa)^2 - 2(n)(nxa) + n^2
