i am a longtime bare minerals user, and yes - this is the absolute best make-up i've found in many years. it is even better, than in the infomercials. bare escentuals developed bare minerals 30 years ago, and they have been improving it ever since. get a starter kit (60.), i like the "original" best, it includes 2 foundation shades, 3 brushes, mineral veil, warmth (bronzer), glee (blush), and the how-to dvd. try it on at any ulta, sephora, macy's, nordstrom, or bare escentuals store, to match the foundation to your skin tone. the starter kit is a good deal, the brushes are pretty expensive, if bought separately. the kit lasts 2-3 months. the full size foundation (25.00), and mineral veil (19.00) last me about one year.

I used Bare Escentuals - is that what you are referring to? If not, it is close to the same thing.

I like it in the beginning. I found it odd that a powder could really cover that way. However, after a while I noticed my skin breaking out. I think, in hindsight, that was because application requires a brush each time and it is important to keep it really clean. The brush to apply the powder base is THICK and so cleaning with mild baby shampoo was OK, but hard to get out all of it....which meant collection of oils which transfered to my skin. It just did not work for me overall. Kinda messy (loose powder all over), etc.

BUT my friend SWEARS by the stuff and has been using it exclusively for years. She loves it and has had no skin problems. The bronzers you can use just like a blush, to enhance. Based on how you described your skin coloring I would try it as it is likely to balance out the tone and even things up.

I ordered something similar from EBay, just to see what it was like. I was really surprised how nice it is! I am 55 and have my own skin issues, and it really does a good job. I got the foundation, bronzer - for a little extra color, blush, and the "mineral veil", which finishes it off with a little soft glow. It really covers well. I have a couple of darker spots which just fade away. It looks very light and not make-uppy, but covers so well.

I love Bare minerals..

Its seriously the best makeup ever.

I am on my second kit and all my friends that have tried mine bought it cause they loved it so much.

Definitely buy a starter kit, it comes with 3 brushes, 2 foundations, a mineral veil, and a bronzer (warmth). I like to use the warmth instead of blush, it makes you look sun-kissed.

And its good at covering up the acne, definitely better than liquid concealers, and its actually good for your face.

Try it, I think you will like it:)

I'll tell you my experiences with it... Bare Minerals (aka Bare Escentuals) products contain bismuth which is NOT a healthy mineral and NOT at all recommended for sensitive skin. They don't say this in their glowing advertisements... It caused me a very bad reaction including intense itch, large blotchy patches of redness, and break outs! I then looked into Sheer Cover which also contains bismuth so i didn't even bother with that one...

I then found this makeup, it's bismuth and filler free, and have been using it for 2 years now! It's wonderful! They have more foundation colors finishing powders then any other company and it made it so much easier to blend with my own skin! Plus they have over 45 eye shadows (and I'm a eyeshadow diva)! It all works really works well! Plus they are also MUCH cheaper then the 'big' name companies, and they're cruelty free and totally VEGAN (animal by-product free)! Best of all, no fillers that cause itching and breakouts on certain people!!!

They also offer sample sizes and free shipping to the Continental US, you can view their products here!

I use Bare Minerals. I love it so much. Im a freak when it comes to their make up( i love their eye shadows). I been using it for 2 years and have friends that use it too. It gives me great coverage and you see the difference. I used cover girl long time ago and then i had problems with my skin and let that go and discovered the makeup at Ulta when I did my make over for prom and graduation. bye bye liquid crap and got bare minerals as a gift =) its worth the $

I've tried it and I liked it. It was very easy to use and if you start with the starter kit it should have everything you need to start. Also check for a local seller, they do exist and sometimes they will offer to do a free tutorial so you know what to do and how. (My first time I put to much bronzer on and I could have been George Hamilton's double!)

i exploit bare minerals and it works great! i does no longer reccommend it for somebody who desires to locate something that should disguise severe zits or darkish spots. it is great at enhanceing your organic attractiveness. nicely actual worth the money.

The foundations are GREAT, the blushes are really good, and the eyeshadows/glimmers/glimpses are FUN FUN FUN! I HIGHLY recommend it. It really hides any flaws, but gives a truly natural finish.

I've heard it's completely overrated. Check out this site for unbiased cosmetics reviews for pretty much every product you can find on the shelf whether it's in an expensive department store or in a drugstore...
