If this problem is:

(-1/6)d = -4

then multiply both sides by -6 to get

d = 24

If this problem is -1/(6d) = -4

then take the reciprocal of both sides

6d/(-1) = 1/(-4)

then multiply both sides by -1/6 and you get

d = 1/24

d = -6 * -4 so d = 24

d = -24... I think. If you are trying to find what d is you are supposed to multiply both sides by 6/1 (or just 6). So there ya go.
