Wellwood is a joy to watch. I think he is vastly underrated. I felt sorry for the guy last year watching him pass to open guys only for them to whiff on the puck. There was a 3 game span last year where he found 8 guys with open nets...EIGHT....and only one goal was scored.

I certainly hope that Wellwood can get these nagging injury problems of his resolved so that he can show his talents to the world.

I'm no Leafs fan, but I actually think Wellwood is UNDER-rated. He plays smartly on both sides of the puck, passes well, and the Leafs do better when he is in the lineup. He is also still very young, and could develop even further. He'll never be Sydney Crosby, or even Mats Sundin, but that doesn't make him over-rated. Can't help getting injured. Let's see him in action for a full year before we start passing hasty judgements on him.

Good for you for having the will power NOT to get hooked on phonics.

As for your..."question," if Wellwood is given the chance to perform with the right chemistry (maybe even the right team), he can definitely turn some heads in the league.

Go Leafs.

I'd say because of his injuries, he's still underrated outside of Leaf Nation. He definately has the talent to back up the hype.

I don't think we can rate the kid until he finally stays out of the doctors office.

it depends on your definition of "Overrated". he definitely has some talent if you ask me.
