I just got a bunny, and he was fine. My brother got into his cage, grabbed him, and threw him. He wasn't hurt, but he stopped drinking last night, and he hasn't eaten either. He has also had bad diarhea. I am pretty sure he's gonna die. Is he? What can I do? I can't go to the vet, I have school and my mom is always working. We only have time on the weekends, and it's Monday. Thanx

You should at least call the vet and ask someone there for advise. There are also after hours emergency vet clinics so you can go to one of those after your mum comes home from work. Just because you can't get to the vet doesn't mean that something else can be done - sometimes vet care os the only way to save a rabbit. rabbits can die very quickly so urgent medical attention is needed. It is hard to tell if a rabbit is hurt as they can't make noises to tell you. I hope your rabbit makes it, but I also agree with the first answer. Also, a pet should be considered as part of the family. i am sure your mum wouldn't leave you with a serious injury until the weekend to get some medical attention. If someone where close to death, not having time to take them to the hospital does not mean they can just wait until the weekend. It is very important to get some ,medical attention for your rabbit - and fast!

you cant go to the vet? school is no excuse to not be able to take your animal to the vet. Rabbits can live as long or longer than dogs and cats, they have personalities, and they are very fragile.
just because he looks fine doesnt mean he was, stress is a reason for him to have bad diarrhea, but rabbits have a very sensitive GI tract- so bad diarrhea that doesnt go away can very well mean death. are you feeding him hay? make sure he has a large supply of hay, timothy if he's older than 6months.. alfalfa if he's a baby.
rabbits have very fragile bones also, he might have broken a bone, if he's in pain he wont eat, check and see if he's grinding his teeth a lot or loudly- this means he's in pain.
GET TO THE VET.
btw, your brother sounds like a very respectable person.

********PLEASE READ THIS*******
i am editing to say, please do not only feed your rabbit pellets. that is very unhealthy, i have 4 rabbits right now and am a pre-veterinary medicine major who has worked at a pet store with many rabbits and their diet should be atleast 75% hay!!! our rabbits have a diet of 90% hay and 10% pellets and they are VERY healthy. in nature they eat roughage- not pellets.

how long ago did you get him? if you just bought him and then he got 'attacked' by your brother thats two very traumatic experiences for him and he will be stressed. you should take him to a vet or call one.
im sorry to say this but your mum should not have got you a pet if she's not prepared for all all the responsibilities including veterinary care that come with owning a pet.

good luck

He could be stressed, but how hard did your brother throw him?
Getting handled rough could stress him out. If he is acting off feed, I would get him to your vet.

Dont feed him lettuce, it will cause loose stools .. Make sure you are only giving him pellets and if the runs keep up, give him a little pepto. (about 1/2 t)
Keep fresh water in his bottle and fresh food. Watch him close.

Good Luck ..

Well, you need to get him to a vet. You won't, so whatever happen happens.
If he dies, DO NOT GET ANOTHER PET!!!! You do not have time for one, and your family is not really great for pets.
