liberals will always demand abortion as birth control even if it means killing the child during birth.

Reasonable? About abortion?
Hahahahahahaha, good luck with that.
I'd like to side step the question entirely by propsing that appropriate technology be developed to bring any fetus to full term ex-utero (protecting the rights of both woman & fetus), but any person who would choose to do take that route more than once (dumping an unwanted fetus on society) is too damned irresponsible to be allowed to breed. So the second time the procedure is performed, mandatory tube-tying!
Notice I said PERSON, dna testing means the father is held accountable also (cause he could have said no, or worn a condom).

I think we have general agreement that the desire to do greiveous bodily harm to oneself (drink Drano, put out an eye, etc.) is proof of insanity. The term "consenting adult" doesn't apply to an incompetant person, who has no consent to give. When the argument is made that one has the right to control ones own body, that this argument applies only to consenting adults goes without saying. To pretend otherwise is to be ingenuous.
Disallowal of a proceedure to protect the life or health of a pregnant woman can only be supported by the presumption that a fetus is not only a person, but a person whose right to exist is more important than the life or health of another person. That a fetus is viable is not established as a criteria for whether or not a fetus is person, much less a person with such extensive rights.
WHO SAYS that the fact that a 7 mo preemie MAY be viable "proves" that a 7 mo fetus is a not only a person, but a person with the right to injure or kill another to protect its own existance? WHO SAYS? Neither Science nor Law accept the notion that "I believe it with all my heart, therefore it must be true" as a valid proof.

OK, Dark S: I know NO ONE who wants that. I believe that a woman should have the right to have an abortion during the 1st trimester only. That's right, only the first trimester. Don't make assumptions about liberals and prochoice people if all you do is generalize.

I am a Liberal, I am not in favor of abortion. I just don't think the country needs any more rights taken away or any more laws add. Oh wait those use to be conservative beliefs.
Plus if you make Abortion illegal how will republican congress men explain all of their illagitament children to their wives?
If you want to be serious about this. Look at the abortion rate in countries that it is illegal. You will notice that the abortion rate is much higher.

I would be much, much more open to the idea of limiting abortion if I saw any evidence that conservatives were amenable to excellent sex education, open to the idea of easy access birth control, or really seemed to gave a damn about what happens after that baby is born.
I simply don't see any of that so abortion is what you get.
We have pharmacists in our state (AZ) who try to deny women birth control and attempted to have that protected as a civil right.
Why would I want to give any ground to conservatives when the path they seem to want to travel is complete control over our sexual behavior?

I love it whenever people post a completely biased question... then..answer their own question within their details..then target it so all of the mindless followers that agree with their question will post their responses accordingly.
Just thought I'd throw it out there.
Why would you ask a question if you're not giving people a chance to answer, and obviously not looking for any type of reasonable argument?
You seem pretty convinced prior to listening to what others have to say.
edit: Oh, and JohnDeer... i hope you realize that no one is "pro-abortion".... that is pretty senseless of you to respond in such a manner. It's pro-choice, not pro-abortion. If someone was pro-abortion, they'd want everyone to get abortions despite the circumstances, and the heart-wrenching dilemmas and choices they would otherwise undergo.
also, I agree with Shylock. if people were rational and actually promoted safe sex education, and taught teenagers to respect their bodies, instead of pretending sex doesn't exist! oh my! for instance, at my college, they offer pregnancy tests, but, you get a fine if you're caught with a condom... interesting isn't it?

How can you be reasonable about killing any life? A woman has a choice to have sex. But this new life that forms inside the body of a woman, is not the woman's life. It is the baby's life.
Since Roe vs. Wade, science has come a long way, baby. At the moment of conception, the DNA in that little life is totally human.
I think it's interesting how liberal thinkers want to protect baby seals or whales or even owls... but a human baby?? For heaven's sake...

Completely unique individual - different fingerprints, different DNA and often even different sexual orientation - how the hell does that equate to a woman having freedom of choice concerning HER body?
"ProChoice" is the greatest euphemism since The Department of War became The Defense Department.

Answer me this-If life does not Begin at conception, then when? Three months?, six months?,nine months? What other than a living thing moves and grows? A plant? A "fetus" is alive or it's not. A woman has no "right" to have her baby(fetus) killed unless the circumstances are extraordinary.

What is amazing to me is that doctors in white coats don't take people away to the funny farm for saying they want to kill their own child they created while it's in their body. I can't believe this idea ever became anything except disgusting and cause for the person wanting to kill their own child to be taken away and shunned from society.
