It depends on when we removed ourselves from foreign diplomacy and who would be better off. Who is we? If it is all of present America than no. Our standard of living would drop by a significant amount. The middle east would fall into chaos and our oil supply would disappear. Unless you are an Amish or our already removed from society this would definitely affect you negatively. The costs of this are relatively low. Foreign aid much less than a quarter point of GDP and while military spending is high most of that money comes right back at us. So I believe beyond a doubt the answer right now is no. Maybe one day it will be yes but probably not likely.

We're still feeling the repercussions from Carter's inconsistent foreign policy. Total lack of just means others get what they want at the expense of the US, so, no.
