Being overweight shouldn't affect your chances of getting pregnant, but you do have a higher risk of gestational diabetes and high blood pressure while you are pregnant.
Here's a tip though: Don't jog. Just walk with a medium to swift stride. I do the 10,000 steps a day walking program, and have learned that for calorie burning, jogging is highly inefficient. You'll only burn about 10% more calories jogging for 15 minutes than walking, but you'll fatigue some 25% faster. In other words, you'll be able to walk MUCH longer, and in the long run burn more calories. You should try the program. Email me if you want to know more.
Also, your doctor should have no problem with you continuing to walk all throughout your pregnancy, but jogging he or she would probably be concerned with. Walking is great exercise for pregnant women as it helps maintain a healthy weight ( you don't want to gain TOO much when pregnant) and it helps increase stamina, fight fatigue, and build strength in the legs and back for supporting the baby.

They do say being over weight can make it a bit harder to get pregnant. But it can also give you a slightly higher rate of twins too. So there could be good or bad to that. You can exercise like you do now for a while into pregnancy. After a bit your doctor will tell you to slow down a bit. Walking is great. And some doctors feel it is safe to loose weight during pregnancy. But not all. It is easier in the first few months to loose weight. I know that from personal experience. Best of luck to you!!

I would continue the walking but not jogging due to balance reasons. Definately cut back on sodas and keep up with your water so you're hydrated, for the baby of course!!! You can keep exercising while pregnant. My best friend still goes to curves and she's 6 months preggers.
My doctor told me I can continue my weight watchers while I'm pregnant since it's my way of life. I've been doing it for so long, and it helps me get in my daily healthy foods, and stay away from nonhealthy foods, so he actually recommended I continue it. You're going to naturally gain weight while preggers. But I wouldn't go overboard to lose any. That could hurt the baby.

I have the same height as you and am also slightly overweight... I have heard its not a good idea but nothing says you can't as far as the walking goes I say go for it, My older sister walked up hill through most of the months she was pregnant to get her daughter from school, as exercise, My nephew is now a healthy active 1.5 year old toddler...
just don't overdue it and be aware of the weather in your neighborhood...
Good luck

being slightly overweight should not effect your chances
I would continue the speed walking but nix the jogging for balance reasons
loosing some weight (2-3 lbs) or maintaining is fine in the beginning but not towards the end of your pregnancy

i think there's nothing wrong with walking but be careful with the jogging. if you're overweight (like me) then the doc will probably recommend that you lose some weight because it's harder for us to get pregnant. so i'm on the treadmill now....hoping to get pregnant after 2 years. good luck to us!
