Cloning of body parts for medical reasons - No, not banned. We've already decided as a society that transplants are not a problem. The origin of the transplant organ is really immaterial as long as it does not cause a loss of human life.
Cloning of entire "duplicate" humans - No, as long as that human is free and legally unencumbered from the "host". In other words, no forced use of the clone for the host's needs. The clone would have the same rights as any other offspring. Once the clone's human rights are safeguarded, hosting a clone would be no different than having a baby.
I think that, like twins, similar (or equal) DNA will still yield individuals that are significantly different from each other and their parents/hosts. So I don't think it will be as popular or useful as one would think. The possible exception would be an increase of single parents, but that's already prevalent in society anyway.

i don't see any reason it should be banned, if it helps the population as a whole, what is the problem. Why not give people with incurable diseases a chance at a healthy life and if thats the way to do then so be it. AS far as the guy above who said it would have no spirit "how do you know that" you don't and you should not just assume it wouldn't. People want to get all religious and things but you know what God gave us the ability to do this, then why should we not take advantage of it. If a parent could have their child for just one more day because of a cloned person's cells, do you think they would actually say no to that? NO Come on people, think of someone besides yourselves.

I think it should be banned.
Overpopulation is already a problem without adding more people. If the purpose of cloning were merely to harvest
organs for the original,or to gain subjects for scientific
experiments,it would be immoral.
Cloning animals would be all right if there was a shortage of food, although I suppose vegetarians wouldn't agree.
You may be right about human cloning being inevitable.
If so their rights as human beings should be protected, just
like everybody else.

well, we've never actually cloned a human... the closest is the sheep. You can't really know if its a human without a soul, if it can talk and walk then does it have a soul? how do we know anyone has a soul for that matter, you can't see a soul.
I don't really care right now, if it turns out that it is like a zombie i will probably say its bad.
If it can not feel then maybe its better to use that instead of people in dangerous jobs. It's up to you.

actual i believe that it would be neat to clone people but i mean it in a different sort of way like clone people and use them for spare parts like that movie the island. i liked the idea of people having clones where they could take parts from them. just think people who lost legs could possibly have them back. brain injuries could be fixed by just taking a peice out. since im not a doctor i have no idea if it would work but if it could that would be really cool

a lot of organism spread by cloning, it is far more natural than reproduction is, as long as we remember that clones should be entitled to the same rights and opportunities as any other being their really their is nothing wrong in my eyes!!!

human cloning should be banned. Cause a body without a spirit would just be a zombie, a sick creation. Human cloning and genetic enhancements seem to be the cheat codes of this world today. Why do we need them? is the question. Were getting along fine without them. Sure there are benefits to it, but not benefits that we need.

Read "Dr. Moreau's Island" and decide.
It is immoral; but so is smoking, drinking, doing drugs and fornicating as well as theft and murder, but most people condone those things.

YES, just because we can do things doesn't mean we should. i get tired of people saying that , it can save lives, maybe we shouldn't be. maybe this is gods way of population control. the planet is already over populated the way it is. and these scientists that say there doing for the good of mankind (HA) they do it because it make them feel like they are playing god
