Press PrnScr for a picture of the entire screen
This places a copy in the clipboard
go to a document
Control V to insert

If you Alt-PrnScr, you can get just a picture of the open window only - without the background of all the menus, etc.

Hit the Prt Scrn/Sys Rq button on your keyboard. (Up by Scroll lock, and Pause/Break)

After you do that, go into paint. And and hit Control+V or go to Edit, and then Paste.
