I have a DVO in progress. The hearing for it is next tuesday, yet the person i filed it against, hasn't been served yet because he's well doing a bit of a runner. I found out however where he is staying. so I wish to supply the address

Do i have to give the updated details to the magistrates court I filed it at, the police station near there. Or can I do it at any police station or court house.

I live in qld australia.

thanks

you can have him served anytime anywhere. the orders should have the court date on them. if he fails to show, they issue a warrant for his arrest. as long as he is served it doesnt matter. no you dont have to go to court or the police to update them. You already have the order, have him served asap and get it over with.if the police there have to do it, then by all means, go to the police and get them to serve him. but get it done.

Okay, here's an idea for you. Ask your question ONCE and let people answer. If you are that impatient, pick up the phone and call the police station and courthouse. This is the fourth time I have seen this question from you.

I believe that someone that can not accept criticism without resulting to vulgarities is in no position to tell someone to "grow up".

I live in the US but it sounds like your system is like ours. in this case you want him served before the hearing, therefore, you should report what you know to the police in the jurisdiction where you filed the action. If he doesn't show up, the judge may grant a continuance until after he is served. Or a judge in Australia may (as they do here) grant a Temporary Order until he is served so that you can be safe until the hearing may be had.

i've got no longer been in because of the fact 2002. I enlisted into the army and the USMC (5 years aside) as quickly as I went in relatives violence offenders weren't allowed to enlist by any potential. they do no longer prefer those that must be seen risky. they are going to place a weapon in his hand.
