No because any effort at denying the denial accusation after that will only be used to enforce their belief even if it is not true...silence sometimes is the only way to deal with this sort of situation

It is impossible to prove a negative.

Ask them to prove that they are not Santa Claus.
No matter what they say, they could be Santa Claus and just hiding it well.

sometimes i will go to the moon & back just to prove them wrong...
but that's just because it brings me satisfaction..


but i can see in the case of an addict/eating disorder..
you tell the person that they have a problem but of course they are not going to admit that there's something wrong with them..
