Most law firms will take payments on the bankruptcy. What you can't finance however are the filing fees and court costs as these fees need to be paid up front. With that in mind, make sure to shop around. Lawyers are like any other business and would rather take business as opposed to losing it to a competitor. Counter offer any fees that they charge. Some firms have standard costs that usually are quite competitive and if they advertise a given rate for bankruptcy these won't be negotiable. For those firms that don't post a specific rate though, try to shop it around.
Hope this helps.

This is sad but here's what we did and I don't know if you have ANY credit left......we were almost done with credit when we did it but we had ONE card that had just enough to pay the lawyer with. We took a cash advance on it, paid the lawyer and THEN filed bankruptcy. I know....it's bad -- you do what you have to do. Good luck -- YOU ARE NOT ALONE -- I KNOW IT'S STRESSFUL....we lost our home too later.....I KNOW what you're going through.

I think it is disgusting for people to max out credit and then file bankruptcy..I also think some lawyers try to get you to put too much into bankruptcy...some lawyers are crooked and only see dollar signs..Bankrutpcy hurts all businesses except lawyers..they get theirs before the real creditors get paid!! Its total..BS!!
If you cant pay for it dont sign ur name....learn to live within your income..! I am in business and it is terrible for people to rip off creditors!

Generally, yes. There will be an up-front filing fee, and your lawyer will likely want his or her fee, or a large part of it, up front too -- after all, you are filing for bankrupcy, so you have shown you won't or can't pay debts that you owe, and the lawyer wants to get paid for his or her work.

i think some will allow you to make payments..the idea is, you are not supposed to file bankruptcy when you are down to your last 100 bucks. You are supposed to file bankruptcy when you ahve tons of cash, but are starting to think you have way too much debt.

first you have to find an attorney that does accept payments. not all do. and the ones that do dont actually file your bankruptcy until they receive all of your monies. they begin the process but it wont even be officially filed until you pay everything.
