Brad Lidge has blown like 200 games for the astros this season..
Let the Phillies suffer from the trade..

Yes I believe it was. Now they can put Brett Myers back in the rotation, and now Lidge can act as set up man or closer, depending on Tom Gordon next season. Lets just wait and see

I thiink it was good for both teams, Lidge was in need of a change in scenery, he was not as dominate and had lost the faith of the fans who boo him. The Phillies did not really give up much in the deal and got a reliever (even if he is not hte closer) who is MLB caliber, someone who can give you innings even if the closer role is no longer in his future.

For Houston it was, I think.
Lidge isn't washed up, but he's no longer at his 2004-05 peak, and he brought a lot of baggage to Minute Maid. So a new environment might help him get back to elite status -- or maybe not, but it CERTAINLY wasn't going to happen in Houston.
Wade got some promising kids in return, so it isn't a bad deal. Neutral to slightly positive.
