I'm in eighth grade and love reading. Here are some of my favorite books:
"Paper Quake" by Kathryn Reiss-about a girl named Violet, who is a triplet, trying to fit in with her other triplet sisters. She lives in California experiencing many scary earthquakes. As she and her sisters clean up after the earthquakes, they find mysterious messages that they think are from the past.
"Walk Two Moons" by Sharon Creech-about a girl named Sal who travels from Ohio to Idaho trying to find her mother. Along the way, she tells the story of Phoebe Winterbottom, one of her friends who might have a clue about her mother's disappearance.
"The Wanderer" by Sharon Creech-about a girl named Sophie who sails across the Atlantic toward England to see her grandfather. The story includes the adventures that take place on the way to England and the exciting voyage.
"The City of Ember" by Jeanne DuPrau-about a girl named Lina who wants to be a messenger, but becomes a Pipeworks laborer instead and works in the mysterious underground tunnels, where her adventures begin.
"Mirror Image" by Clair Poulson-about twins who are separated at birth and live completely different lives for years, but are finally reunited and have to solve a huge mystery together in order to survive.

There is this book called "The Boys Next Door". It isnt a romance book or anything. It is a comedy. It is about,

Lori lives for summertime on th lake. She apends all season wakeboarding, swimming, and hanging with her friends-including the two hotties in the house next door. With the Vader brothers, Lori's always been on of the boys.

But while Lori and the "baby" brother,Adam, are inseparable friends, she can't deny a secret crush on Sean, the older Vader boy. This year Sean's been paying Lori a lot of attention, and "not" in a brotherly way.

But just as Lori decides to prove to Sean she's girlfriend materail, she realizes that he role as "girl friend" to Adam may be even more important. And by trying so hard fo rthe perfect summer "change", she could be going way overboard. . . .

P.S. I haven't finished yet so I just wrote what was on the back of the book. So far it is really good. So I suggest that you read this book. also I didn't write down all of it so dont think that it isnt finished. i also didnt want to spoil it.

Here goes:

http://www.life-after-harry-potter.com

Included is a list of only the best sorcery fantasy books, grade reading level, a short review of each book along with a brief summary of adult content. There is also a "Reader's Choice" list of favorite books, and a list of heroine sorcery fantasy books.

Also these: http://www.interleaves.org/~rteeter/grtother.html#great . Lots of lists, but I especially like the Harvard Classics list - all the books that I should have read, but (mostly) never did.

Finally, these: http://www.awardannals.com/wiki/Honor_roll:Genres - pick your genre, find the best books ranked by how many awards they've won.

I hope this helps.

1. "Left Behind the Kids Series" or the adult version....

2. "Eragon"/"Eldest" (1 and 2 book in the inheritance series by Christopher Paolini.. and the 3rd.. when it comes out.. [no clue when])

3. "Lord of the Rings" (and the "Hobbit" which is a prelude type thing to the "Lord of the Rings")

4. "Little House on the Prairie " by Laura Ingalls Wilder (lil bit of romance [older years]... but manly not..)

Well, these are my favorites:

The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton
Alex Rider - series - by Anthony Horowitz
Uglies - series - by Scott Westerfeld
Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow by Orson Scott Card

In all there's like 18 books up there if you want to read all of the series.

You could try the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson. Begins with "Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment." They are highly entertaining books. I think you'll enjoy them.
