1 word.

Air.

The glue needs air to react and become hard.

Glue needs to dry to stick. If the glue is in a sealed container where air can't get to it, the glue won't dry. If you use part of a bottle of glue and seal it up, it will last for quite a while, but the air inside the bottle will dry and harden the glue near the mouth of the bottle. Left long enough, the air trapped in the bottle will eventually harden the glue.

When it's exposed to the air, it dries out -- the moisture in the glue evaporates. It gets hard. The hardening is what makes the glue sticky. When it's completely hard and dry, then it's no longer just sticky -- it's completely STUCK!

When the glue is in a sealed container, it can't dry out so it doesn't stick and it isn't stuck.

Get it?

Wow...... how profound. ...........Let me think. I think it's because the inside of the bottle is not exposed to air, b/c it is air the dries the glue and makes it stick.

I mean, there is a pocket of air, but that is all. It is still enclosed.

For glue to stick it has to dry. Take the cap off a glue bottle and wait a few days, don't worry it will stick.

Hey, that's a great question.

I am guessing it has to do with the contents of the glue bottle, itself, and the fact that the bottle is closed most of the time??

Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to sell glue in a bottle if it stuck to the inside, eh?

beacause the bottlt\e is sealed so that no air can enter causing the glue to harden, hence causing it not to stick to the bottle!!!
