acutally I don't think you look healthy at all. In my eyes, I see you as being tan, during a time of year, when there isn't the sun out, that would naturally make you tan. And then I htink bigger picture that you will probably get skin cancer later on in life.

The longer you tan and the darker you get the more your skin will get dry, flaky, rough, and not supple and nice as when you were younger. I saw this women in her 40s on Dr. 90210 on E! network who tanned a lot, she was former lifeguard, and then has taken to tanning booths, and she looked so much older than she really was. Just not the picture of health. She actually had to undergo a chemical peel to undo the mass amounts of sun exposure and make her skin look nice again.

I prefer being lighter skinned. I feel healthier, my skin is softer and doesn't look like leather.

no i dont think girls get jealous but just to let you no if you lay in a tanning bed you have a big risk of getting skin skin cancer so if you plan on tanning at a salon i would go with spray tanning i really have nothing against people who go to tanning salon just be careful and dont make it look fake!

Tanned skin is NOT healthy...My little sister got skin cancer when she was 24 years old! She has a nasty scar on her face that even makeup can't hide from surgery, and lost her hair in chemo...it grew back only half as well. Now that she had cancer in her body, she has to worry about it coming back for the rest of her life.

It is that you are doing something for vanity that is NOT good for you.

It's all a matter of taste. If people don't really know you and they're saying that kind of stuff, they're either jealous or judgemental of tan people.

Usually it's not the tan they're hating on.

No, it's just that tanning is HORRIBLE for your skin, and girls over do it and it doesn't even loook good! why cant' you just be happy with your natural skin color?if you want to warm up your complexion a litle just use a little bronzer on your cheeks, you'll look healthy and natural, not like an OOMPA LOOMPA! lol

i do not know about them getting jealous. but believe me.. tan does not equal healthy. it is dangerous and can eventually lead to skin cancer. my neighbor has huge holes in her legs where they have had to remove skin cancer due to her constant tanning when she was younger.
pale is beautiful!!!

(or try the fake tan skin products... much healthier way to go!)

I think it contributes to the idea that you are "fake" (even if you don't want to be called that) because you are doing something purely for looks (especially something that is harmful). You send that message that "looking good means more to me than my health."
