yo i am 14 and a half yrs old and i can jump about 32 inches. my family is ok at athletics and my dad has a 24 inch standing vertical. i am been simply squatting alot and i have seen very good increases. i plan on working on my vertical for about 4 yrs ( i am a baller so i am play basketball hours on end everyday which helps) with about 8 months of true dedicated squatting/ pylos (my summers and breaks). i always get enough rest. Is it possible that i can end up with a 40 plus vertical? i am willing to dedicate all of that time and hard work.

It is extremely rare for anyone to get an honest jump over 36 inches, so you may have your goals set too high. Worry about your game and not just jumping.

Explosive power routines help e.g. bounce squats, alternating bounce lunges, bodyweight squats, calf will boost, HIIT (intense intensity era preparation), Burpees (determine you explode up on the bounce), and quite plenty only prepare on leaping to touch the basketball rim.
