People make the same mistakes over and over and over again. Before getting married a second or third time a person needs to do some real soul searching and be brutally honest about what went wrong. About 6 months of couples counseling BEFORE the next marriage would solve a lot of problems too.

The three things that break up second marriages are:
1. Sex
2. Money
3. Kids from the first marriage

the high failure rate is because when a marriage fails and the couple decide to try again, they haven't done anything to change the conditions that caused the first divorce so they repeat the same mistakes with the same result. If a couple wants to try to make it the second time they have to talk and iron out the problems that caused the first divorce or they are going to fail the second time also.

Because chances are you're still doing the same things that didn't work the first time around..........not to mention that both parties carry a lot of extra baggage into a second or subsequent marriage. There are a lot more issues and stressful situations you are forced to deal with.

Well maybe because they had the same characteristics that made them get divorced the first time. A lot of people that stay married do so because they do not believe in divorce, its against their religion or moral code. These others had done it once before, so it was easier to do the next time. Hope this helps

People bring baggage with them from the previous marriage(s). If your 1st husband cheated on you, you are really going to watch subsequent men very hard to see that they are not doing the same even if they don't deserve he mistrust. One makes up ones mind after the first failure to never let that kind of thing happen to you again. It is very difficult to trust again.

Maybe cause they rush in to it. They have to give it time and wait to see if things are going well first with the second partner, if not, why not wait a little. Im getting a divorce myself, and i have a bf, i told him that if he wants to marry me someday, its gonna have to take hell of a time. I want to know him better, and as years pass by, it'll show if he's the right person to remarry with, cause i don't wanna go true all that crap again.

People don’t really change. So what ever were the problems that caused the divorce will always be present. What have to change are you and your mate’s attitude about that behavior. Either you can or cannot live with it.

I just learned in school that it's actually about the same. But kids are a factor of marriage failure.
