There is no proof either way.Just our own imaginations and beliefs.
It's just a guessing game really.

When a mysterious story like this is being investigated by the police, anywhere in the world, it has all to do with PSYCHOLOGY.
An investigator's primary work is in the realms of psyching out the truth from those that may wish to hide it, and to develop a 'hunch' about the validity of what is being told to them. These hunches constitute the major backbone of any investigation, and lead to further sleuthing that could further lead to any evidence to back up the hunch. Actually finding that evidence can be relatively easy if there isn't a slurry of distractions thrown into the investigators' path. The hunch itself is not an abstract thing; it is found through inuendos, body language and things that don't ring true or connect
with 'normality'.
Ask yourselves this: What happened here?
The PJ were following a hunch very early on in this investigation.......something didn't resonate with 'reality' from very early on. Then they were bombarded with criticism, and thwarted in their efforts to find evidence, by a very strong surge put up by the suspects themselves.
Why would any one, who sincerely was a victim of a crime,
do this? The more the suspects hide behind their 'rights', the more suspicious the investigators become.....Wouldn't you?
This is what we, the public who are not privy to all the evidence collected, are also picking up on: A HUNCH that something's not right with the 'victims' story. These people are what is now known as Anti-McCanns.
Pro-McCanns are more bent on benefit of the doubt, and dire hope that someone, somewhere, is harbouring the poor little girl and will give her up, 'in good condition', when they no longer can hold on to her.
This is very important: The police, in all civilized countries, have a roster of criminals and organized gangs on the loose, that they cannot touch until a further crime is commited....then they know where to look for them, and swoop in.
In the Madrid bombings...no problem!
9/11....no problem!...photos of them in just a few days.
They often know about a ring of child abductors, but cannot bust them until a crime has been freshly reported. Same with drugs and mafia. So, in this case they would surely have followed this scent, since it was still so fresh, and compared the facts at hand with those on their roster. But something did not ring true. Do not underestimate the police!
We, the observers cannot provide any pieces of solid evidence....How can we? But what we CAN do is to present the likelihood, in our opinion, of a possible scenario based on the same hunches that the police have encountered, and based on our subliminal 'readings' of the facts provided.
My guess is that the police have been stymied in their search for hard evidence, due to this chain-of-friends that set up a pact of protection for the McCanns in a split second, all at the risk of loosing their careers.....(which are indeed done for whichever way this thing goes). They can't wriggle out of this one now! Something's gotta give!
My guess: if the investigation does not lead to a body, that the PJ will slam all those involved with grand obstrucion of justice, perjury, and abuse of police services.....and will (shoud) fine them a hefty amout of euros for their trouble.
For the child neglect and abuse charges, I don't know in which country's jurisdiction that would fall.
Whatever the outcome, their careers are finished.
The people's court has spoken!

Never have liked the term anti or pro in relation to the McCann's. You are saying what myself and many others have been saying on here for months which is if anyone did know the answers or have proof we would not be constantly debating on this subject. I and others are being called 'fence sitters'. Truth be told what else can you do when you just DON'T KNOW? This means I (we) can niether agree or disagree with the opinions of those who are so sure. Naturally as they also DON'T KNOW they cannot take up any challenge to prove their point.

Finally someone who's questioning both sides..
none of us know the evidence..we hear what's put in the papers, what's said on the news... that's not nearly half of what's really going on, So get off your soap boxes and just pray that she's still alive instead of arguing who is right. It's pathetic, and down right immature.
Oh yeah, and it's pretty damn obvious they're guilty of child neglect... what are you, 10? and yeah, they should be tried for that, as it's just a disgrace. You don't need to keep banging on that they're like the worse parents in the world!!! They did something totally unjustifiable, yes, but it's done with, and hopefully people will learn from this tragic mistake. you don't need some legal expert to point that out.... That's not the point is it... the point is whether she will be found alive or not first... end of.
Oh and I agree with Viper, there are far more pressing matters, all I seem to read on this part of ya, is about Mccans and some idiot banging on about not liking certain members.

OK, good intentions gone.
They ARE guilty - by their own admission. Of gross child neglect, if nothing else. If this had been any other couple, they would be languishing in a jail cell right about now. And their twins would have been placed in care or be with a RESPONSIBLE adult.
People say they are genuinely upset and remorseful and "suffering" over the disappearance of Maddie. I say that's bullsh1t - they should have given more thought to their children's welfare.
There are two things I'm certain of in this case:
1. As much as I would love to be proven wrong, Maddie is dead - it's just been too long.
2. The supposed sightings of Maddie are no more, no less than a smokescreen - for what purpose, I can't say.
One day, we may know the whole truth, but I wouldn't count on it just yet.

'Proving' something has to be beyond reasonable doubt.
Unfortunately, only the police and, if the parents were ever to be prosecuted, a jury can be made privy to all the details of evidence provided for and against the McCanns. Newspapers often provide arbritary cases and evidence for readers, to sell papers, not to provide justice.
My view is that the McCanns are undeniably guilty of being bad parents. Who leaves their 2 year old children by themselves? Especially whilst on holiday! I think they probably are guilty of Maddie's death - there is definitive proof now that the twins were sedated. 2+2= 4

As an 'Anti' I will say this. There is no need to 'prove' that the Mcanns were guilty of 'child neglect' as Kate and Gerry and indeed the rest of the 'Tapas 9' went on record and admitted they left their children at night on multiple occasions both in Portugal and Greece the previous year. Some may argue that leaving your child alone in a foreign apartment is OK, personally I think it is not so I believe that they are guilty of neglect. I have ever directly said they are guilty of 'murdering' Madeleine, though some do. I personally believe that Madeleine had an accident and died and that they hid the body. In that respect I believe they are guilty of that much. There is no proof in open domain, but something is not right with their story as presented, and for sure their is no evidence of an abduction that I have seen. 'Fake abductions' are not unknown and the FBI has a series of documented cases, albeit most are child snatch cases in partner custody tussles.

The parents are guilty of leaving their children unattended (by their own admission)
As for the rest at the moment it is pure speculation as you well know.
Remember we would have never heard of this family had they not been so irresponsible in the first place.
Maddy deserves the truth either way.

Im surprised that someone who is usually quite sensible says that this is such a good question. How do you expect anyone on here to answer those questions? As lisa says, everything is speculation, but we ARE allowed our opinions.
Of course no one can provide solid evidence(the incompetent police have probably destroyed it by now anyway).I think its a ridiculous question.Sorry no offence.

I can't prove that Madeleine McCann is alive and nobody outside of the PJ can prove that the parents killed her.
It's all swings & roundabouts, speculation & conspiracies.

they are guilty of of gross child neglect and should be charged with this crime - this is why Madeleine is missing in the first place.... THIS IS SOLID EVIDENCE AS THEY ADMITTED LEAVING THE CHILDREN ALONE AND GOING OUT TO PARTY WINE AND DINE WITH THEIR MATES ....
Unfortunately, Madeleine is the victim in all this and seems to have been forgotten even by her parents in all the hype and media ... its a real shame that everyone seems to have forgotten about the real truth and why Madeleine is actually missing - that is because her parents neglected her and were irresponsible..
