I try to think about what I'm afraid of that has led me to become angry. Anger is part of our fight or flight response to perceived danger...When you think things through...usually you'll find that if you can analyze the fear or work out a way of improving the situation, the anger goes away too.

I talk to the person, vent to a friend if that person isn't someone I am in contact with (stupid drivers I never see again) or clean my house.

Talking with friends...or in times of high confrontation with lots of adrenelin...I cry (it's embarassing but that's just how my brain reacts) Fortunately it doesn't happen often.

I take a time out for myself. I send myself to my room or garage and take a few minutes to breathe.

go for walk...or simply lick my lips and breathe in deep...that will calm me until I have someone around who is caring enough to listen.
