My friend was banned from driving for 15 months and was told he had to do his driving test again before he could drive, this was all due to speeding! silly guy i know. He had been driving for just over two years when it happened. So anyway the ban is over now and i was wondering what exactly happens? He has been told that the new drivers act does not apply to him anymore i.e he is now allowed 12 penalty points before he losses his license again, is this true? and also he has 1 years no claim bonus from before his license was revoked, can he use this after he passes his test again?
Ps i dont think he's going to speed again dont worry!.

If your 'Friend' has to take another test then his licence is only good a provisional purposes.
If he was banned for 15 months and ordered to re-take his test then he was probably banned for dangerous driving in which case he will sit an 'extended test' this test is similar to the advanced test which lasts for 1hr 15min.
If on the other hand he was banned for careless driving then he will only have to sit a normal test.
Either way his insurance premium will be higher than before the ban. His licence will not have any points on it.

i'm afraid no quantity of info of somebody spiking his drink negates the reality, he replaced into over the shrink. i could certainly recommend him against using whilst disqualified - the police do tend to look out for disqualified drivers no longer vehicles - quite right this moment of year. He could run the prospect of a detention center sentence. he's not insured as a disqualified motive force and does no longer get cover the two so he's could be risking his very own besides as others lives, he would desire to be the main secure motive force, yet he would desire to fulfill an quite risky, uninsured motive force (like himself) coming any opposite direction! isn't there all and sundry he works with that would desire to %. him up/drop him off - for a contribution in direction of gasoline.

The expiration date on his existing points doesn't change. If he has, say, ten points that haven't expired yet then one more ticket will have him back on the bus.

Getting banned for 15 months doesn't magically wipe his slate clean.
